Getting real tired of Death Teleportation

You literally get set back 3-5 maps if you die in certain areas. How is that relevant. Thats time wasting… It doesn’t promote anything but frustration. All you’re going to do is walk through the maps again not killing anything just to get back to the area. So why implement a system that teleports you back to random areas, not even goddess statues.

You get 5 TP every 24 hours. It might be wise to spend 4 of those free tp on some resurrection orbs… If you just aim to keep at least 1 in your inventory at all times then in the unfortunate case that your character kicks the bucket, you’ll have a handy in-place revival.

I do use it on resurrection orbs because of this issue

However, the map doesn’t say hey you’re being teleported back 4 maps before you click resurrect assuming you will end up on same map

You keep one of the side quests completed in case you need to teleport back until you finish all other quests, then you finish that and go to the next map you need to do more quests, repeat the process and you don’t even need to waste TP.

sigh… kids today need others to hold their hands. Games back in the days were much more punishing. In RO, you lose experience XP when you die. In lineage, you could lose certain equipped item. I’m pretty sure ultima online and dark age of camelot had something similar, but I never played those. Now people complain about walking back? How about try not to die in the first place?

omg l2p nub, git gud!

but seriously… if you’re dying a lot, maybe you need to learn to revise your play style?
i’ve never been sent anywhere but beginning of the same map, so far. there’s only been one area where i seriously “walled out” against some mobs, and changing my style fixed that pretty well.

if you get a huge pack on you all at once, try kiting them. (run ahead of the pack, and pick them off with various ranged attacks. it helps a lot if you actually have any ranged attacks, of course.)
if it’s only a single mob in a really busy area, -don’t- kite it. even a mage can tank single mobs at-level.

LOLed hard on that one hahahahaha.

Ah good old days, also I remember there were only kafras in towns and a few in the fields which would sometimes make it so that you had to walk a bunch of maps just to get back to where you were.

You’re all flaming for 0 reason… Ive played maplestory from release. i know what its like to lose exp. so you can shut the hell up about that. But at least in those games you can register where you get sent back to or end up on your map again. Its stupid to just be like hey, we’re going to send you to a random map with no godess statues just so you have to truck all the way back.

thats not the point… dying happens. you afk, in a supposed non monster safe zone to go to the bathroom, an ■■■■■■■ leads mobs to you and stealths. it happens, you can’t deny it. the problem isn’t IM DYING I NEED TO HAVE GAME EASIER HURR HUR. its that the one time i do die in the 100s of hours im gaming, it sets you back 5 maps and its irritating.

Theres plenty of punish in the game anyways. Loss of gems, durability, etc. why make time be a punishment. the point of no exp loss on death is to remove the time penalty. however, when you have a situation like needing to spend 5-6 mintues just crossing maps, i would have rather spawned on area missing 5%

Yeah, while in ToS, you don’t lose EXP, but can’t save where you where, unless you have a completed quest there or had used before a Warp Scroll, even so, you need to use a statue to go back there, because if you use the scroll again you will mark your current location as new warp point.[quote=“Volpone, post:13, topic:187875”]

Thats when you use the Char selection button on the bottom when you log out, you are safe in your own lodge, then you go back after finishing your business. Better 2 fast loading screens than 4 long walks and 5 loading screens.

You’re pretending like the mechanic is justified because there are work arounds…

but as you say yourself, perhaps if load screens werent as punishing, it wouldnt matter

My loading screens are real fast, 10 -13 seconds, i am running under SSD on a laptop, i don’t have nothing to complain, you are complaining about something ridiculous, every game have a type of death penalty and this one have the actual one, now what else you want from the game? An auto pilot like all of those browser games out there have? Why not ask for a personal gamer to play the game for you?

This game when done, i do hope have way heaver mechanics like this, you are supposed to learn with your mistakes, if you can’t do at least that, then forget about MMO RPGS because the RPG part is there for a reason at least for this game.

I already gave you a cheap and effective alternative, its up to you use it or no, its not an exploit, its not a hack, it is into the game mechanics, if you don’t like it, i suggest you stop playing and go back to w/e you have been playing so far.

Again, this game is not supposed to be a word processor where you can undo something just with a click because you don’t like it.

So it happens around once every few hundreds of hours, meaning it can’t have happened to you more than 2 or 3 times by now. That is if you managed to die on the low level mobs too with the same probability. And you find it huge enough of a problem you need to QQ so much about it?

I assumed you played 18 hours a day and by 100s you meant exactly 100 hours, just enough to call it “in the 100s of hours of gaming”.

And if it actually happened in the 100s of hours of playing, like once every 200 hours, and if you’ve been playing less than 12 hours on average full 7/7 days a week, then it might have happened to you only once since the opening of the EA.

This translates as either you’re way worse at playing and you die way more often than you’re claiming, or you’re QQing over nothing because this kind of thing has only happened to you once. If it’s the former: lernu 2 play. If it’s the latter: Stop crying over nothing.

Having to walk back is part of the penalty, if you died because you went AFK, who the hell is going to AFK in middle of a mob spawning area, that was your very own fault, you can argue workarounds and what not, but the truth is that you shouldn’t be dying to begin with.

now you’re just sounding ridiculous about it.
“i didn’t want to take preventative measures, therefore the problem shouldn’t exist in the first place!”
“i had to walk for a couple of minutes because i AFK’d on a hostile map!” (there’s no such thing as a safe zone. out of the way? sure, but not completely safe as long as you’re logged in.)

quit crying over it, and just be glad they don’t send you all the way back to Klaipeda/Orsha on every death.

ive died 4x in open world since this game has released for founded

once in tennant due to a boss literally 1 shoting me

once in Chappel because of the stupid spin mobs that chunk you for 2.4k dmg

once in mage tower because of 5-6 mage mobs dropping on me

and once just now when i was in a zone where another 8 mage mobs just happened to spawn on me.

All occurances brought me to

front gate of tennant
front gate of chapel
front gate of mage tower
and the map before muskul chamber(which was 3 maps away from where i was)

All maps had godess statues within 1 map of them. and for some magic reason, it sends you to shitsville
