I’ve been getting this error for awhile now, and I tried almost everything. I just want to know… WILL REINSTALLING HELP?
Install the VC redist that came with the game to solve it, if it persist send them a ticket.
I tried doing that, but when I try to install the new one, it keeps getting an error saying “Set up has failed.” But when I go to my control panel, the VC redists are listed in my Programs list (which I assume that they’re already installed), but when I click the “repair button” it says “Set up failed” again (which I assume that they are broken). I can’t update my Windows, it’s getting an error too. So to avoid the long process of finding a way to fix the error in Windows Update, I just decided to reinstall the game. So, I was wondering if reinstalling the game will make a difference?

If you have some knowledge I suggest you to:

Hopefully you didn’t disabled some system services, as some may cause instability if disabled, specially Windows Installer service.

Run SFC and see if it will fix any files that might be corrupted.

Also, if you use a 3rd party AV like AVG or Aviira, try disable them and run the setup again, some AVs cause more issues than protect. I personally don’t have nothing against Windows Defender that comes with Win10 since I’m careful and the only one who use this laptop.

If SFC don’t find anything, neither disabling the AV solve this, you either will have to use the Restore Point to go to a point in where it was everything ok (don’t worry it won’t touch your personal files (pics, videos, docs)).
If after all of this, you still can’t install or repair the runtimes, then you will probably have to reinstall the whole system.
You can’t fix something fast if the system is in that state, there’s no way a health system return errors on installation cabinets.
I just finished reinstalling and it didn’t help at all, I get the same error. I researched and most of the solutions I’ve found was to really run a Windows update, but sadly, It’s also getting an error. It’s an error after an error. Maybe it has to do something with my OS, because it’s after all a crack version, but I have played with the game before with no problems, the error occured after the patch. And then I realized that the VC redist and Windows update was also experiencing errors. I’m getting someone to check it out since I’m not a computer expert and I’m afraid to fix this myself because I may just make things worse. Anyway, thank you for your help. I’ll show this to my uncle, which is a computer expert.

It’s best, he might find the issue faster or just reinstall the whole thing making a backup of your stuff.
A last thing I could tell you to try is, create a new Administrative account on Windows and try to run windows update to see if it will update, but I’m not sure if that will work either so it’s just a shot in the dark.
