You guys have completely defeated me, I’m using a regular Dell XPS with 1GB GPU .

But I’m planning on getting a [I5 4690 / MSI GTX 970 / 8GB ram] ASAP - (already bought it).
PS: My desk is a mess as usual, sorry for that (lol).

A standard Acer Aspire V5-471G with Logitech M235 mouse is enough for me. And a fan, of course.

Ah I use to have a G18 for ages and loved it but then I replaced with my filco =)

A good rule of thumb is to get the single best GPU you can get within your budget. SLI/Crossfire will not always scale well with all games and in some games you get higher maximum fps but also lower minimum. This leads to stuttering and that’s very bad. With a single GPU, you’re always getting what you paid for, plus you probably won’t have to upgrade your power supply. I’d definitely pass on the SLI 970 setup and go for a single GPU of equivalent price. Also what resolution monitor are you using? For 1080p I would not go higher than a R9 290 because you won’t see any real gain unless you have a higher refresh rate than 60Hz. For 1440p some great choices are R9 390/390x and GTX 980. For 4k, grab yourself a Fury X and don’t look back :stuck_out_tongue:

So how’s the performance of R9 390?

It’s a beast. Mine isn’t overclocked yet but it performs a little better than a GTX 970 and R9 290x and will only get better with driver updates. Definitely worth the money if you’re a fan of AMD
