Gaming Headsets

So I’m looking for a new headset…can anyone suggest what will I get

I’m thinking about getting the Astrogaming A40 is it good?

A40 is certainly one of the best headset out there, especially with that 7.1 surround sound capability if I’m not wrong. Sennheiser G4ME One is also great and cheaper, it has noise cancelling mic & top notch sound. As for myself, I own a Steelseries Elite Prism Gaming for its sound quality, it’s very comfortable, and this steelseries headset can be used for PS4, PC, XBOXOne, PSVita, 3DS, even smartphones.

Standard iPhone handsfree.
I’m not joking.

Seriously, if you got the money to buy a headset, you should be able to buy a quality headphone. I got a little budget when I decided to buy one, so I chose the Superlux which has a really great balance between low, mid and high, slightly higher in low area depending on the series you’re looking (They offer bass option, balanced option, etc.). For a $30 cans, Superlux is way beyond its competitors in terms in sound quality (Their headphones sux at build quality though), at least from what I’ve experienced and the reviews on this product. Sennheiser is good if you got the budget ready because their headphones can be quite costly. Anything’s fine really, except Beats… just… don’t.

Like @blueblue said, buy a pair of headphone + a standard microphone and you’re done. Gaming headsets can be quite annoying with its crappy sound quality and durability. (I used to own Corsair Vengeance Headset, it was really good until it broke 3 months later because of excessive usage. Sound was above standard and its build was reaallly top notch. ). If you insist on buying a gaming headset, sure, I recommend the Corsair Vengeance, there are several series and of course different prices. If you’re lucky, you’ll be using that for over 2 years, at least from the comments and reviews I saw regarding its durability (IDK why mine broke in 3 months, and no warranty ;_; ) Look around Amazon and you’ll find em.

EDIT: vocabs.

I recommend something along the lines of this.

Astros A40 are a GREAT option. You must buy them with the mix-amp. Every single headset ranking mentions them as one of the top 3. Dont get Razer’s ones since they are overpriced (I have 3 headsets and my razers are the only ones I dont use since the mic quality is bad, the audio is bad and they feel extremely heavy). If you are looking for “confort” over quality I would recommend Steelseries Siberia V2. Sennheiser Gaming ONE is a great headset too (but a bit expensive).

In price terms:

High end: Sennheiser Gaming One or PC 350 (there are other models with other prices)
Mid-range price: Astros A40 (GREAT value for the money)
Low range: Steelseries Siberia V2 (voted as one of the most confortable headsets ever made)

I owned/tried all these headsets. In matter of confort it depends on your head size.

Logitech G930s are extremely comfortable. They go around your ear and are wireless so you can walk around your home. Also no tripping over cords. Siberias were meh, they hug your ears so you’re going to get sweaty if your room is hot but overall good quality. Razer is overpriced garbage similar to Alienware. You pay for the name.

Anyone that says to use headphones + clip on mic don’t really know anything. For quality headphones you’re going to need to dish out some serious cash, and even then, they are mainly for music, not gaming. Especially since you probably don’t have amps and DACs, the quality difference is nill.

I myself use speakers for everything and headset to talk only.

If we are talking about wireless this sir is right. Logitech G930s are indestructible. It has one of the best scores in newegg or amazon.
I prefer wired sets because they are usually lighter and sometimes my battery dies if I do a long session. But wireless also have their perks. With wireless headsets you can use them in your bed or any place within range confortably. I used my wireless set while cleaning my room or even while cooking.

I have the stadard Kraken 7.1 . Besides the price, I don’t regret buying it. It’s been a year and it looks good as new.

I got the Logitech G35 myself and it’s pretty comfortable for long gaming sessions. Still good 2 years and counting.
