Gamepad help plz

Hi, i bought a gamepad today (xeox pro) and i have following problem: when i wanna use my skills for example L2 A then it often doesnt work with L2 A but with L2 B same for the other skills X Y and B … everything else works perfectly fine. Welp plz :c

i’m using a dual shock 4 here and had no problems, could you be more clear?

Make sure the gamepad is not connected to an USB 3.0 port, that could be the problem.

well i was just on my cleric my skills on the L2 set are Y = deprotected Zone B= Zaibas A = heal X = cure

when i want to use Heal i have to press L2 B for dZone its working with L2 Y for Zaibas L2 B and for cure L2 A

doesnt make a diff same with either usp ports. but thanks for the answer

I haven’t understand description at all D:
Is joystick wireless?
Do L2 A skill even work, or press occasionally? Or just mapping problem?
If it’s key mapping problem, check this out: https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/joypad-scheme-change/86966/2

Theres one thing that you can do, but will be a pain in the ass, on the game folder (TreeOfSavior/Release) theres a file called hotkey_joystick.xml, in there theres the list of buttons that can be rebond, if you gonna take the risk make sure to make a backup of the file first, you can open it with the notepad or notepad++(recommended since it do have text autoformat and break the lines more efficiently than the windows notepad) then you go on start menu > Devices and Printers (i think its that on Win7 sry i dont remember since im using Win10 for a while) and in there open the gamepad setup, if im not mistaken on the first tab it will show the sticks (analog and digital) and the buttons from your gamepad, each have a number when you press you will see it light up, check to see which is what and compare to the xml file.

It does seem like a hell of a trouble reading all this text wall, but doing it praticaly is more simple, it can be that since you are using a gamepad that is not compliant with microsoft standarts (it some bullsheet but oh well) it could be that some buttons are different than when its compare to Xbox gamepad setup.

Or, you should check, if your gamepad is recognized properly in Windows. Try to hold your “home” button for 7 seconds.

ok ill try that, thank you. Will let you know if it works or not

ill check that out as well thanks

If you’re using a cheap controller like i am you could be having kind of the same problems i had. I used the X360CE program to fix my controller keys, basically i manually mapped the keys and now it is working fine. Hope it helps you too.

its working properly

That is true, i just found about this program this weekend when i started playing Tales of Zestiria.

Then, you must do some file editing, or use external software like others recommend.

@kr4ut1337 ego gave a good idea, its more easy and on the safe side too, you dont need to mess with the game files, i completely forgot that software.

yea thanks works fine with the programm

Thank you all for your Input
