Game Crash on Controller disconnect

Date and Time : every-time when the controller is disconnected

Game Control Mode (Keyboard/Joypad/Mouse) :Xbox 360 Wireless controller

Bug Description : The game crash when my wireless joystick is disconnected. It’s very annoying while I am in an instance dungeon or field boss hunting. I will not get any reward if I’m disconnected from the game. Please help.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. play the game for a while (1 min roughly). It’s fine at the begining of using the controller.
  2. removing the battery or diconnecting the controller
  3. the game crash. Showing “Client_tos.exe has stopped working”

  • Mainboard :ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer

  • Storage :Samsung SSD 850Pro 256GB

  • OS :Windows 10 Pro 64bit

  • Internet Connection :10M Cable

  • Country / Region (US-east/west) :Thailand / Asia

  • JoyStick - Xbox 360 Wireless joystick & Xbox 360 reciever

This happens when any usb controller is disconnected it can also happen when a usb headset is disconnected while the game is running.

Oh, Thanks for new information. But there is no any solution yet. right?

As far as i know the only solution is to not unplug any usb device when playing ToS. Its an annoying bug.

yea, I understand but sometime the controller just disconnects itself even the new battery. My friend told me he uses Xbox360 controller like me but he doesn’t experience this issue. I’m thinking is it because my OS? windows 10?

Fix this ■■■■■■■ issue!!! This is so long!!!

I use to have this issue with Windows 7. I now have Windows 10 and never have this issue as long as I’m running the client as administrator.

Do u mean Steam client?

You have to actually go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release then right click Client_tos, then go to properties. Go to Compatibility tab, check the box that says “Run as Administrator” then apply and ok.

Look like we have to buy a new wired-controller for this game. No responding from any staff for a month dude.
