I see more and more complain about the opportunity to do more than just kill stuff in the game, and I do agree with that sentiment. With the resent implementation of fishing in kToS, it feels like IMC is at least are trying to do something about it.
But implementing new game mechanics takes a lot of time, and while I very much want them to continue doing it, there are faster ways to give us more fun stuff in the meantime.
Contests have been severely underused in iToS and is a quick and easy way to give us more fun things to do that centre around the game, and as a great bi-effect creates great publicity when the content creators publish their stuff all over internet. Something that will also attract new players to the game.
We had a video contest a long while ago and the art contests are few and far between. Writers, designers and musicians have so far been completely ignored. I would very much love to see fanfic-, costume- and remix contests for iToS in the near future.
Maybe if we show the staff that this is something we are interested in having this could actually happen. What sort of contest would you love to see/participate in?
