Frustrations, blow your steam here

I know a lot of us are frustrated because we love this game too much (or too little in its current state) to suck up our gripes with ToS. I’m a former super casual RO player, and I’ve played Wow and countless other free(mostly asian) mmo’s casually. I’m currently level 101 c1->kriv2->bokor with planned build c1kriv2bokor2c2PD. Here are my personal frustrations.

  1. Focus on aoe farming vs. high xp single target farming. I’m totally fine with aoe, but when you need to kill 3-4 monsters to get .1% xp, when you’re 180 levels away from the current cap, it’s kinda frustrating. This also plays in to lag, dps drops, and problem with mob density. Some classes kill the mobs so fast, they just run around clearing areas without leaving anything for the guy 2 seconds later to the party. More difficult individual mobs will force people to focus on killing a single target for a longer period of time instead of running around like a bot ksing everything with a hit or two. Aoe can be used for let’s say semi-frequent champion enemies who spawn weaker mobs . This way both aoe and single target is useful for general grinding.

  2. Promoting min/max builds and quickly alienating those who are not running them. I understand this is an mmo, and min maxing is normal, but for an mmo that boasts such class diversity, it feels like crap when you want to usee the diversity of the system and then findo out endgame you won’t get picked up by any parties because you don’t help them kill mobs 2 seconds faster. This ties in with my first point, where quick aoe farming is encouraged. And then there is earth tower, which completely craps on any build not designed to run it.

  3. I know this sounds crazy, but I think class respec should be a thing. To all the hardcore “just make an alt for pvp” people, I’m 27, married, working and a full time student. Im on spring break so I found some rare time to enjoy some leveling. Knowing that I will forever be gimped in pvp and party pve, I’m a “solo” build and I can never full experience the game because I don’t have time to create alts for every specific purpose. Also, not knowing future classes and not knowing what will become of my character in future updates makes it difficult to justify the hundreds of hours I put into a character without the safety of respec. Honestly I will just quit and not play if I can’t enjof anything late game except solo play. Wow was super casual, but it was fun being able to respec and play different roles your class was designed to play (ex. Shaman can be a dps or healer, you can queue a dungeon as either, and depending on your gear, you can do either/or pretty well.)

That’s it for now, time to study. Please refrain from bashing, and discuss the points as objectively as possible. Feel free to post your own frustrations. This is a open discussion (minus trolls)

I’m not one to get ranty, but I’m not very happy with these things:

The cancerous Shout chat is getting really old.The racists especially need to be dealt with already.

For gods sake, give us another way to purchase more TP.

The N key shouldn’t freeze my entire game for so many seconds while waiting for it to come up.

I’m frustrated that if im not WizardC3 > ElementalistC3 im an “useless wizard” for random people, fortunately i have 4 other friends playing :stuck_out_tongue: but oh well.

1:1 Trade for Non Token users should be a thing.

Lagspikes and fps drops was already in my “high possibility to happen” hope they fix them tho.

Monster spawn rate is a bit “meh” in field areas.

Edit: Fireball being pushed by swordman is something i easily frustrate to

Anyways I’m really really enjoying the game, but i think that some aspects can be changed to improve this “enjoyment”.

Unfortunately I have no one to play with :frowning: but I’m glad you do! It’s hard to get friends to play a cutesy anime game.

  1. The mob density is really getting to me as I progress. Less than 14 spawns on an entire map where a repeatble calls for 15 per round is insane and took me and a friend hours to do, holy crap.

  2. The community is way less fun than I thought it would be. Where’s all the people I can admire. Where is /anyone/ who stands out even a little bit. The forums are the exact opposite of fun. In-game is all washed up political memes and complain-about-people-who-arent-my-nationality central. People all went on about how a paying community is a better community but all I see is that everyone is like 3x more annoying and aren’t even aware of it? Nobody sticks with each other. That’s literally all you need to do for something interesting to happen. Did I have too high of expectations? I love the friends I have now but I expected to really feel a community, yes?

Don’t know what time Cerberus spawns on Klaipeda.

I QQ

Countless self-inflicted wounds by the company. The potential system should be trashed, trade should be open and unrestricted, AH pricing should be unrestricted and uncontrolled, spawn rates should be increased, silver should be tradeable, silver should storeable (team and personal storage), spawn rates should be increased, ease up on instance limits (2-3 of ANY dungeon per day isn’t much especially for support characters or anyone who relies on team content – but 3 boss rushes per day is fine).

Hire some students or something to be low level GMs who can just ban bots and answer tickets during the day.

Np, I was getting to the point where I was going to rant to a friend who doesn’t play the game. This seems like a more productive way to talk about it  And for your first point, I don’t necessarily have a problem with the density more so the way farming is designed (weak enemies, hit and run for archers or waste a 30 second cd skill to kill a 10 hp mob with cleric for.001% xp promoting aoe farming). But I can relate to your frustration. But mob density for quest purposes was few and far between for me so I didn’t have much of a problem. But yes, a couple quests took kind of long.

I HAVE A CHOICE TO NOT PLAY THIS GAME, I HAVE OVER A HUNDRED STILL UNTOUCHED ON STEAM BECAUSE DAMN SALES…! but my sprite’s too cute I need to take more screenshots

really helps to let it out sometimes… :nerd:

I completely and whole heartedly agree. I feel like I’m playing a fractured game that needs a foundational rework on ceretain features, and the social aspect(trading etc.) is at the top of that list. Second, I would say class system rework with less “filler” or “extremely situational aka usless” classes/skills. And yes, I feel bad for supports that can only dungeon twice a day. Smh.

Some of your issues you list are social, and others are just the natural orders of things. Some classes will excel at AoE, now what might be a case is that those certain builds also have very strong damage in general. This game doesn’t really do well with balancing at the moment.

As for your social issues, you speak as of pugs are the only option for you. If you so desire to run a “solo build” and fear some group won’t burden you to venture into Earth Tower or other high end content, it’s a natural case in any game. And the solution; make your friends and comrades that are in a like situation. You guys can venture into earth tower together, and the like content.

It’s actually rare to bump into ultra elitists these days, they’re usually their own worst enemies. They don’t tend to make friends very well and the other elitists will bump heads. It’s hard to imagine people being oh so picky in this game about groups. Especially when the game is a breeze so far. Lvl 184 here and everything’s laughably easy and the few “hard” situations are near unavoidable (Looking at you High HP Goblin Ice Mages of Vertkis Square with your 1k damage and freezes). as hard as it is for devs to balance classes, I imagine their content is also poorly balanced. A few gimmicky classes might be necessary for certain things to become trivial and easy in Earth Tower but I really don’t think you’d need everyone to run optimal.

Thought it was my pc, ffs, I love this game, seriously, I do but daaaamn sometimes that freeze gets me on my nerves.

F the racism honestly. I hate the negative stigma surrounding BR players. Let them enjoy the game too. There are very smart and reasonable Brazilians I’ve come across in and out of online games, my wife being one of them :P. I occasionally poke fun at her when she says “oh this game looks fun, I should tell my brother (who is in brazil) to play it”. My go to joke is "he cant, he’s BR, heuheuheuheuheuheu outloud :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. I dont mind the waifu jokes and all that crap on the shout chat, but no one gives a shiet if you hate BR or Americans. Just… stop. Im neither from any of those and I dont give a damn, but I’ll end up instantly blocking you for the sake of my peace.

  2. Playing as a sorcerer c1 is painful when the enemy has a knockback because if we get knockbacked our not-so-smart-summoned-devil will just follow us and stupidly look and shoot behind me where there is nothing.

  3. We are over 2 weeks in and entering a dungeon can be a pain at times. IMC pls… If you will…

Two things that bother me.

  1. Clicking on pets when attackng
  2. The forum users level of maturity seems pretty low.

It’s not like the stereotypes about Brazilian gamers popped out of thin air. Many behave very badly in online games.

If a Brazilian player doesn’t want to fit that stereotype, it’s up to them to act appropriately.

But calling people racist for having preconceptions about BR gamers is pretty scumbagish and dishonest. They developed those preconceptions out of experience, not bigotry.

Its most likely just kids. The adults most likely just play the game. The RU kids have the same thing in CS GO, with the whole “cyka blyak” thing.

Theyll grow older and experience the real world and then hopefully mature.

I didn’t say it was right or wrong. I just meant that preconceptions and stereotypes and profiles don’t just pop out of thin air. And it definitely has nothing to do with racism.
