"Fresh New Start" DLC is out, 45$

i play in SEA so i compared it with the local RO and DN SEA rates

if i get my hands on info on iRO rates (to dollars) and DN NA/EU rates maybe i can make similar comparisons

I’m torn about this tbh. I really want a stat reset but probably wouldn’t pay more than $10 for one. The other stuff isn’t worth that much tbh.

Like I don’t want to buy it on principle. But I doubt IMC cares much for principles, seeing as the discount is 4x what I’d feel comfortable spending for such a thing. So it’s not like they’re suddenly gonna change their minds and make it lower, and then I’ll have skipped it and might later have to buy it at the obscene price.

67$ paid to IMC is 71.69$ too much.

About RO: That’s the prices for Renewal, though. The renewal update made stats even more useful, e.g. most stats now increase several substats in contrast to pre-renewal RO.

E.g.: Dex used to increase hit, minimum attack, bow damage, attackspeed and decreased cast time [by 1/150% per point; 150 DEX= instant cast]
From Renewal on, it additionally increases magic attack and magic defense.

This means it’s less likely for someone to want a statreset (you get unlimited free statresets until level 40 anyway and afaik 1 free statreset from that on per char), meaning the price is ok.
Also, let’s not forget that RO, after renewal hit, dropped the threshold mechanic of stacking 10folds/7folds of INT/STR/DEX to increase your attack drastically, so correct point allocation was way more crucial before now.

About DN: Well, it’s not just 3 skillresets. Afaik, you get at least 3 free skillresets from the level up boxes + another 3 free skill resets from Warp Helper Tracies quests in Saint Haven. There was also the Irines Gift quest after 1st jobchange that granted you another free one, but I don’t know if that’s still ingame. So it’s at least 6 free skillresets per character from lvl 1-93. There’s also the option of obtaining 1-3 skillresets by doing PvP, and there’s the option to buy an additional skilltree per character (e.g. for PVP build or Raiding build), enabling you to have 2 different skillbuilds on 1 character.

If IMC was clever, they would just sell additional skilltrees for that money instead of simple skill resets, because people would actually buy a 2nd skilltree rather than just a stat&skillreset…

i’m pretty sure skill reset (neuralizer) existed and sold at the price i stated even before renewal, not sure about stat reset

i also didn’t count reset for transcending

in DN:

  1. Irine - not available for spin-off classes
  2. PvP - needs a bit of farming (i think this is just one skill reset)
  3. level-up box - not sure now, i think it was two at 93 (job change/skill reset, so that’s 2 i guess), not sure about the contents of levels 1-90

also not sure about tracy
additional skill tree isn’t free so i didn’t count it

i agree that they should have sold additional skilltrees too

It depens on euRO we get those things with Rw (2012)
We got 2 Servers in eu and they close the good one with higher population and p2p.(And the older one)

P2W realy starts in eu with RW …
And RW+p2w are like poison for ro in eu xD

yeah, i was referring to SEA, and i assumed @Adeodatus was talking from SEA perspective too

Renewal was like … 2010 or something (from where i am). i became active in RO at circa 2007 and neuralizer was already there

I thought euRO didn’t get renewal lol. I remember watching an ā€œemotionalā€ video of euRO’s last day (full of trans people)

Never before has someone described what I feel more accurately.

Honestly, just don’t buy it. Can’t keep giving them mixed signals by complaining while throwing your money at them. Let us see if we have enough whales to keep game afloat.

Let me share a story with you. I live in NYC, and have a friend who is chinese. He mentioned that in Chinatown, there are certain restaurants you should avoid if you aren’t Chinese. The reason is this, the menus were originally in chinese and noone spoke a word of english so if you didn’t understand or had someone that could help you understand, you weren’t welcome.

But these restaurants started making some menus in english. Except the prices were twice the amount chinese speakers had to pay on certain dishes and certain other dishes,…well. For instance shark fin soup, apparently really popular among the chinese because of rumor/science/gossip/oldwivestales that it is good for the health. $250 a bowl. When a chinese person orders, they get shark fin soup. When a white guy orders it, he gets tuna fish boiled in water.

I heard this and laughed, thinking, ā€œWow, these chinese are so dirty.ā€ Then I got home and logged into ToS and all of a sudden it was like, ā€œHey, wait a minuteā€¦ā€

Surely I can’t be the only one after hearing a story like that.

i dont blame them, they need to squeeze monie from whale as much as they can since the game is dead later anyway

I think a skill / stat reset is the wrong way to squeeze money out of whales. Although, they are retarded because they need money to do well in a small scale Korean MMO, so it wouldn’t surprise me most of them don’t know how their characters work or how the game mechanics work.

You think I’m making a joke, but I’ve seen Fletchers who had 100% attributes in Magic Arrow and no idea where Dullahan spawns.

These people exist and most likely need a ā€œRetards Starter Kitā€ every week to fix their build.
