FPS drops, Thinking about quitting if not resolved

Hi,

I’m a returning player from the launch days, and quit around June due to the horrible FPS Drops and Server Disconnects. I started playing again this May due to the update, everything has been going well but then I started to experience again the same FPS Drop and Server Disconnect that is currently draining my will to play this game. Does anyone have any solution for this problem. I’m currently thinking about quitting again due to this. I can’t even join my guild for the end game ET, TBL, and Solmiki

I’m playing with a desktop that ran Witcher 3 in ultra mode but the FPS for TOS is dropping to 0.65 when it hits, which is a big mystery for me.

Can you post details about your computer?
CPU type and speed, GPU, RAM, TOS installed on a HDD or SSD?

Did you do anything special that might have caused the fps drops, like installing an addon, changing something in the options menu, installing a driver, etc?

Under which circumstances do you experience fps drops : In towns aswell as fields? When many players are on screen? When many monsters are on screen? When many skills are on screen? Or even when there is nothing going on?

Been playing the game since May 15 - June 23 with no problem. One day I bought TP from their shop and after that I experienced the FPS drop then it just kept on happening.

GeForce GTX 960,
Intel® Core™ i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz
16 GB RAM
Windows 10 (build 15063), 64-bit
SSD Hard Drive

Solutions Tried:

  • Re-downloaded the whole TOS game
  • Re-installed windows 10
  • Closed all apps aside from TOS
  • monitor CPU/RAM/GPU usage (not even passing 1/4 of the desktops capacity)
  • Played the game in Low Settings
  • Played the game in 1280x920 (usually playing in 1680x
  • Changed the setting to DX11 / DX10 / DX12
  • Changed Internet Provider ( I have 2 )

Have you tried activating or deactivating the “Optimization (beta)” option in the game settings? Or tried playing around with the Vsync-options?

This is just a wild guess, but one thing that you could try is disabling Ambient Occlusion in your NVIDIA graphics options. There are numerous games (like Sonic Generations) that have really bad fps with Ambient Occlusion on in the NVIDIA settings, depending on the graphics card and driver. Not sure if helps with TOS but might be worth a shot.
