For a Tank Squire build, Peltasta C3, or Rodelero C1?

Hey there guys, I never played any of the betas for ToS, myself, but it has very much piqued my interest. Not REALLY sure what I’m doing so I thought I’d create a discussion.

I’m trying to run a tank Squire build, and was wondering if I should have Peltasta C3 or Peltasta C2, Rodelero C1. From what I understand, I can have a stronger taunt and more damage, as well as defensive buffs if I go Peltasta C3, but with Rodelero C1, I’ll be able to add some status effects into the fray. I also know my overall combat abilities are going to be gimped because I want to be a full squire.

What do you guys think?

There is no point in tanking any durability you get is for yourself i have yet to see a need for a actual tank like trinity games. The game is more about running in circles to gather mobs and you really don’t need armor for it. I don’t have any advice your you rank selections as i didn’t play swordsman just want you to know what you’ll be getting out of you durability is independent survival.

Well if you get Peltasta C3 and get provoke, it’s pretty amazing for grinding and bossing because everything will be aggroed to you leaving the DPS to charge up their high damaging skills or casting their AoEs. There is a point in taking durability because of the provoke but it’ll be more prevalent later on in the game instead of what we have played in iCBT. Plus, you can still do major damage as a Tank with attributes giving you extra damage.

As a Tank Squire, you’ll be the most supporty swordsman you can build. If you build for STR/DEX instead of CON, you’ll be doing the same damage as other classes but only with Auto attacks which is fine generally.

If you go for Rodelero however, you’d be doing very good damage and able to still tank very well with the Peltasta block attribute while also having some attack skills to dish out with some very good debuffs and a mob clearing skill. You’d be able to solo very well.

I however would prefer a Hoplite shield build with Swordman > Peltasta > Hoplite > Rodelero > Squire C2 because spears are cool  plus, Finestra increases your block% as well so it works pretty well with the Peltasta block attribute.
Barbarian could work instead of Hoplite but you’d be missing out spears entirely which are a pretty good weapon because it is a piercing weapon.

Hoy, full peltasta don´t mean ur a tank. What really means is how much u´ll spent lvling guard atribute.
But, if u get c3, ur “saving some money” cuz ur “def skills” gonna be maxed.

Resume: Your really need pelt c1 for guard, but if you want to go barb ou hop you have nothing holding your potential for a true tank.

Go plain your build based on atributes, thats the real deal.

I’m going Sword1 Pelt2 Rode2 Cent. Peltasta for tanking pve and Rodelero for damage/debuff pvp. Cent for some kind of party utility and because its not any great reason out there to go Rode3.

But to be on topic, Kurche I would recommend Rode1 for at least Montana and Shield push.

I once found a really good tank build.
If I can find it again, I’ll post it here.

Overall I’ll be running a full CON Peltasta x3 > Squire x2. It’s underappreciated at lower levels, but once your in a group and you have max swashbuckling, grinding becomes soo much easier as the mobs start hitting really hard.

especially if you’re friends with a Krivis: Swashbuckling + Zaibos is OP as hell… Just get use to people trying to Killsteal your taunts, it’ll happen a lot.

I will see you tanking in the fields, brother. And blacksmith booth-ing… Let us suffer with low damage solo early game together!

If Rodelero still have their Deprotect attribute then I will go circle 3 for a high chance to remove buffs in pvp. Otherwise I’ll be Swordie Peltasta Rodelero Squire2
