Whats up TOSers! just wanted to bring topic since there wasnt much of a discussion about this. i guess coz generally everyone thought it wouldnt stack.
a couple of variables that i thought need could be major factors of choosing the right weapon.
Bow having 100% flying dmg good for PvE
Crossbow with Arde = 25% ignored defense like a friggin Desolator in Dota 2 lmao.
i just dont want to invest on the wrong stuff lol

Xbow + Arde is better when you are facing normal monsters, Bow if you are facing flying monsters…
Which type of monster do you fight the most? In either case, invest on the weapon type you see fit and get a placeholder weapon for the other one.
I, for example, am using a Savage bow (Hunter skills +2) to increase my Rush Dog damage, but I’m using a xbow + dagger for better output.
you can just put the same weapon in both slots if you want.
i am a noob at archers: does bow occupy both hands ?
Bow is normally referred to the 2-handed bow, while xbow the one-handed bow.
But the thing is: as Op mentioned, both weapon types have different bonuses.

i have an archer but it’s like level … 3 or 4 maybe? lol
i started and realized i had no damn clue what i wanted to do with it… nor any damn clue what i -should- do.
cleric i could probably give decent advice to anyone… archer? “um, i hear they make pointy things go at other things?” lol xD
so i guess bottom line is really having both Bow and xBow with a knife. coz i was just thinking which one is better. how about that Plate/Leather/Cloth issue? lol. and is it really adviseable for CON 40 for surviveability?

It’s not worth investing into arde + xbow.
Specially not if the combo isn’t that much more damage, outside of normal auto attacks with additional attacks on it.
good question. im 1 Archer 3 ranger 1 fletcher ATM & Dex 3 : 1 Str
and @greenfoxy21 i already have an Arde Dagger. its just the xbow or bow i dont have atm. i randomly got Arde in dungeon
Your build is a caster type, you don’t need to xbow + arde.
Stick with a 2-handed bow.

What do you mean that he don’t need xbow+arde if he already got arde? On a non-fliers xbow+arde will always outdamage 2h bow if xbow is same ilvl as a bow.

But yeah i finally got one myself today.
And im already 166…
I tested it with an xbwo that is 130 atk lower then my bow.
I do roughly the same dps with it to most enemies. BUT the extra arde hit makes aa better as xbow.
Skills arent influenced as much.
But now come the thing…
In bossfights against tanky bosses. Xbow is better.
I ddi 30% more dps then with twohanded bow, trough arde and xbow combo.
And my xbow… is 18k silver cheap chunk xD.
