Fix Target-Lock and Changing Targets

It is a giant pain to play as a wizard right now. In dense clusters of monsters, selecting the monster you want to select is hard, especially if the target system decides to switch your target to some far off monster-- which happens all the time! A monster that is left over from my AOE attacks is really hard to select because I usually have to press the button several times. To make matters worse, if you walk too far away from the monster (kiting) it will try to select another monster. That totally defeats the purpose of locking onto the monster!

  1. When pressing the “Change Target” button, make it select the closest monster in the direction the right stick is flicked (controller), or on keyboards to the closest monster in the direction the character is facing.

  2. Increase the range at which you can walk away from a monster without it unlocking the target, possibly even get rid of the problem altogether by not switching targets at all. (if I wanted to switch, I would press the button…)

The game is still playable, but it’s a very uncomfortable experience with this problem. I don’t know how many times I find myself getting frustrated with the way it is right now.

that’s why for precision ppl use mouse.

I think only mouse is viable for wizzies right now. That’s what really solves the problem:

  1. have a targeting system that allows you to decide the select targets by using the Right Joystick (thus increasing selecting speed)
  2. remake the wizzies so they don’t actually need to target a very specific target in the middle of the crowd

hmmm I guess I can only accept that right now. I’m very used to my controller though…

can we bump this thread?.
