Five hammer for returning player

I stopped playing before r8 came and I’ve been seeing five hammer in the forums and in other players as well.

Is five hammer worth it for non-archer classes? I’m assuming 5* lvl 5 red gems are the most cost-effective and most versatile. Are there other alternatives? Not planning to get 5* blue gems since i’m planning to use it on physical builds too.

Here are some of the builds I’m planning to use it with:

pyro-linker
2h swordie (HL-Barb-Dop)
spear swordie (hop-cor shinobi)
any support cleric

Which builds will it be most useful?

by itself is not, but 5 socketed red gems make a different story

well that’s sort of a given that you’re going to use it with 5 gems

5 red gem hammer is nice on cleric & wizard.
On swordie you will use spear + 2 Handed sword.

Archer cannot use it.

yeah, Five Hammer with 5 lvl 5 red gems gets you about 1000 weapon damage. Which is inexplicably stupid at lower levels.

Can just as well use Five Hammer with peltasta and rodelero.

Mage/Cleric use the hamer till they get a prac weapon.
Hop/shinobi should work too i guess?
I use my cancer hammer on murm/Wl/Pd

You cant use doppel skills with the hammer.
And Falmini/Twinblade/Overknife/Magi with yellow/green gems are better anyway.

Would it be redundant to get a five hammer for a pyro linker since it has good dps?

How useful is it for swordies and dps wiz? I mean shouldn’t it become less relevant as you level up? but up to what level tho?

Really worth

I used it for my sw3 before changed to cata pike since cata needs pike in order to use the skill

My sw3 did the quest or dungeon zuper eazy…

Well when I made my hop3-dop, I had 2 hair costumes with at least 70 holy prop attack and maxed out my concentration and gung ho. That and I was lucky enough to get my spontoon to +10 and i was one shotting pretty much everything. Even for the dg 50 and 115 (i skipped 80 unintentionally) i was already dishing out great damage. So I guess it’d be mostly for clerics and mages.

Well my only worry is that when I make a pyro and it might become irrelevant sooner than in clerics since pyro currently has decent dps.

Also, am I right to assume five hammer works great for all cleric builds?

In the case of cleric, you’re only going to use the mace weapon type, so basically Five Hammer is life.
