Fish eat small moving objects that resemble their normal diet foods all the time. Earthworms resemble aquatic worrms, and many fish eat insects that fall into water.
We use earthworms to fish because they’re easy to find and easy to use.

You can get back the fishing items by opening your Fishing UI at the right bottom.

For Golden Fish, yes.
However, the regular fishing leaderboard is just all about luck.
Edit: I’d like to point out a flaw I’ve noticed with this fishing system
In silute currently top 10 players have all nearly same score of 50. Therefore, the more players are active in server and the more of them gets 100% perfect scores everyday, then the more players with same score are in the leaderboard.
I can already predict in near future seeing all top 10 players sharing same number (example: 100). This makes the leaderboard rankings indifferent, that’s a rather big issue if IMC is planning rewards system.

There’s an existing ranking too while doing Uphill Missions … What’s the reward of being on top? When was Uphill Mission implemented? Honestly speaking …
Give us free costumes … that’s the only reason I fish. After getting the costumes, do I keep fishing for rankings? What do I get from fishing except costumes? Hmm. Ahh, something to do when I go to bathroom. Genius …

That fishing rod is called “Klaipeda Fishing Rod” can be obtained when fishing.

Im not too familiar with equipments yet, but maybe those materials are worth something?
I hope they’ll add more new rewards for fishing. They could add rewards for ranking board too
