First compensation mail disappeared

I am not even sure it is to be considered a bug, though here it comes.

The compensation mail we received on day 1 or 2, with experience tomes and some magic scrolls in it, is gone from my account. I had only used some of the scrolls and left the rest of the items there i ncase I wanted to use them on a different character.
I did read there was an expiring date, although I don’t remember what the date was, the fact that I left it there makes me thing it was further ahead than the 5th of april.

Someone else had this issue, or remembers/knows until when that mail was redeemable?

Same issue here.

Lost a couple of exp tomes.

Same here, not sure if they expired or what. But I lost all of it. Was saving them for a higher level but tomes, speed pots. hat enchants all gone.

All the compensations were set to expire after April 4th. The only thing that should be left are dungeon reset scrolls and/or founders pack.

It said it would expire right on the compensation.

i thought it said there was a way higher date on the expiration?

I might have misread 14th instead of 4th. What puzzles me is that I am sure I checked the expiration and told myself “ah no worries, I can keep it there for a while and decide…” I’m usually not this absent-minded.

they did have 4th of April as expiration date, I can confirm because I also checked it before accepting

Okay, darn I got the same problem.
The exp tomes themselves have no date of expiration but the email has one.
I just skimmed through the contents of the mail but not if the mail itself can expire. Tough luck, lost all but one exp tome of the mail and I am lv102.
Levelling in frugality can be punishing as well…

Now I can only blame myself.

PEOPLE THEY HAVE EXPIRY DATES. READ THEM.

before today your first 2 compensations should have disappeared if not claimed.

Same here, I misread the date. I read it as 16-04, April 16th. But apparantly they put the year first, as in year-month-day, instead of going day-month-year which is standard when I’m from. So yeah…my mistake, bye bye tomes and enchant scrolls

Lets assume you read the year last like your saying in this scenario. April 16th 2004, Doesn’t make much sense does it.

No I read it like I said (16-04), I didn’t read the 04 at the end. Cause I assumed it was day-month-year, I didn’t even bother to check the last 2 numbers. That’s why I said I only have myself to blame. Anyway, it doesn’t matter anymore, it’s gone and won’t come back, moving onnnnn~

I think it’s just an oversight, often it’s hord to remember that other countries have different habits and something obvious to us, might be not so bovious to others.
Out of curiosity I googled this:

I know it’s wikipedia, but this is a light discussion anyway, no need to take things to seriously.

Bottom line is, though: those like me who have left the mail there despite reading AN expiration date, did so because they have been dismissive, they said “that’s fine, plenty of time” after reading just the first two digits. Had we bothered reading the whole number and reflected on it for more than a second, we would probably have noticed the 4 at the end.

I had the same issue, and honestly, putting an expiration date on a /compensation/ mail is pretty poor form. At the very least it reeks of low care for their player base. It doesn’t help that the mention of expiration date is in a smaller font than the rest of the text either.

Sure, you can say that we should read it closer, but the fact is it shouldn’t be an issue in the first place. Everyone currently playing is a paying customer and has had to deal with the subpar connection service during the first week. Personally I find it a pretty big letdown.
