I was testing my pyro-onmyo yesterday and didn’t get a single crit hit using fire skills during the whole day with the fox active. Is there something I don’t get or is the effect simply bugged?

Maybe I misunderstand what “fire-property attack” means, I supposed it would work with all the fire skills like Flame ground, Fire Pillar…
My FF is at skill level 6, which means I should get +50% critical rate on fire attacks. Is it using the regular CR stat? My char currently has 400 CR, which mean I should get 600 CR for fire spells during the presence of the fox. Is that simply insufficient?
Note: I was testing vs mobs in Gliehel Memorial, since the area contains both fire susceptible and fire resistant mobs.
