Finall hit Dragoon. What about Skills?

Hi i’m a hybrid pve/pvp build.
Sword1, Pelt1, hoplite1, Cata 3, Dragoon.

Just unsure about what skills to get for my dragoon. I’ve done a search here on the forum, but no ones talking about which are really good or bad.

I’m guessing dragon soar is one of the weaker ones? Should I go with dragon tooth 5, Serp5, and gae bulg 5, and leave dragon soar at 0, or sacrafice 1 skill point somewhere to get at least 1 dragon soar?

Stats are high str, medium con, and high dex.

Any help from someone who is playing Dragoon atm would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Seems like you didn’t search enough.

Dragon Soar should be dealing more damage than Dragon Tooth (ignoring armor type, such as VS ghost armors), and unless you think its fine to go with 1 Slash type move (rush in your case) and 99 pierce type skill, yeah dump it. (even if there’s no reason in the world you’ll actually do that…)

And in my honest opinion at least, Gae Bulg does crap damage, the debuff sucks and the attributes require it to be maxed, yeah it looks fancy and sounds fancy and the description is fancy, but it does ONE hit, every single other dragoon skill deals 4~6 hits instead, without making you lose your weapon in the process or requiring you to waste your time moving to the appropriate distance to use the skil.

If you’re going PVE, Dragon Tooth 4, Serpentine 5, Gae Bulg 1, Dragon Soar 5.

(you can always ditch Gae Bulg entirely to max Dragon Tooth.)

PVP is questionable, some people say Gae Bulg is good for killing runners with low HP and dragon soar wouldn’t help you much there as everyone in PVP uses plate armor almost.

But if you’re going for damage/overall utility, pick the first skill setup, its the most versatile for now…

You can expect Lv5 Dragon Soar to deal more damage on plate than Lv5 Gae Bulg if that intrigues you.

Awesome that’s what i was looking for. I had saw that post, but they did’nt really talk about the skills a lot. Just posted the build. You went nicely in depth. I agree though Gae Bulg sucks. Its a skill that’s needed rarely. I’ll just leave 1 point in it, and grab dragon soar.

in my personal case can say that dragon soar is a very useful skill against a lot of endgame cloth monsters and you can use it while you are moving, dragon tooth is a cast stationary skill a diference of the cata skills(earthwave and doom spike) that you can charge and keep moving
