Heya all guys, just want to know if Fencer are viable in PvP and ask you some tips and insight about them, thank you all in advance!
From what I get, the general consensus is that yes, Fencer is pretty good for PvP as far as the swordsman class goes.
I also see that most people are suggesting to go tanky, but I think they’re wrong.
Since a lot of the fencer skills also block/dodge attacks with the right timing, I think you should probably go full damage to take full advantage of that.
Fencer seems to have many ways to build into it.
Hoplite for Finestra and pierce damage.
Peltasta for shield usage and tanking.
Highlander for 2H blocking into pierce damage.
Corsair for utility and hitting with both weapons (dual wield)
It’s considered a great addition for tanks, but since it is the only class in the game that:
- Can’t use any skills while mounted
- Only class that uses rapiers and all skills NEED rapiers equipped
You lock yourself out of your previous ranks unless you go tanky and shieldy. However with some weapon swapping I’ve seen crazy damage come out of Fencers, mainly using the Highlander cross guard to guard with a 2H, apply Peltasta debuff for more pierce and then going crazy with the multipliers.
Fencer is dangerously unique. You can even take Barbarian circles for Frenzy and Warcry and Seism, Helm Chopper etc. since all Barbarian skills don’t require a specific weapon.
I would only avoid Cataprach as all fencer skills will dismount you.
Dragoon is restricted to 2H spears.
Shinobi seems to be a one trick pony, but who knows in the future?
Hard to ever give advice to Fencers.
