Feedback on item durability

Hallo, the following is the personal opinion of a player who is playing a swordman, with C1 peltasta for aoe taunt and C3 hoplite.

Usually I enjoy filling the tank role in MMOs, so I decided to go for it with ToS aswell. With exception of solo play, completing quests and grinding monsters for achievements and such, I find that in group content tanks get the short end of the stick.

For dungeons the normal 40-42 durability I find on the equipment I currently use seems to be barely enough to make it out alive if you die once. If I happen to die twice the last boss is usually done with red armor. My main problem are necklace and bracers which, for some reason I don’t understand, have much less durability than the rest of my gear, so they end up being red when I get to the end of the dungeon, regardless of my performances.
Even using a squire to repair and avoid all deaths during a dungeon run (which is the way it usually goes when I go with friends) I have to repair after each run. Healers and dd can do at least 2 runs without repairs, the weapon becomes yellow during the second run on average (this is without taking possible deaths into account).

Maybe my play style has something to do with it, since I don’t use guard too much but prefer to dish out damage to help getting rid of the enemies as fast as possible. Would durability loss be less of a problem if I used guard more?

The same can apply to grinding, but for 5 men groups going around clearing stuff provoke can probably disabled since swash buckling is enough. If the dps isn’t enough and the monsters don’t die quickly, yo end up taking more damage than others though, and having to repair more often, since grinding is all about exp/hour you also want to either spend TP on instant repairs or warp scrolls to go backand forth.

Anyone else feels like there is too much durability damage even without deaths when tanking?

Also, what is the point of all that equipment with 28/28 durability you get from quests? I have a hard time with all my 42/42 gear, is there people who actually uses those quest rewards?

Also please note that this is not a rant about having to spend more silver on repairs, I know other classes need reagents or have other expenses. It is not the extra cost that bothers me, more the need to waste time to go back and forth to repair.
