F12 to capture video needs changing

This needs changing off F12, apparently it was changed in the past but now it’s back?

F12 is the default steam-screenshot key, most people won’t have changed it away so apart from taking a screenshot every time you want to record a video, each video ends up with a KA-CHING at the start and also you end up with two random images, or you have to take two screenshots and a very short video every time you want to take a screenshot using the key most of us are used to.

I’ve also seen people press it for a screenshot and then wonder why their FPS has tanked, before realising they’ve got 1gb+ of video recording.

The capture key needs changing to something else. Telling people to change their steam-screenshot key off F12 isn’t a viable option.

Don’t people usually just press printscreen ?
That’s what mine has been working with since i started, not sure about the steam screenshot thing though

F12 is a universal screenshot key across all steam games, saving the screenshots into a steam-specific screenshot folder and then giving you the option to upload to the steamcloud once you close the game, printscreen often just sends to your clipboard.

It’s still there… Forcing users to change universal screeshot hotkey for ALL steam games is a bad move.
