They aren’t launching the game officially, it’s open beta not the launch of the game. And it’s not NA or EU it’s GLOBAL, understand?
And 200~300ms aren’t going to make all that difference on the PVE content, and some people from Brazil, with 200~300ms they still one of the best PVPers on Tera server MT.

It would probably cause no issues to them if they added one EU server and one US server to the list, and expand based on playerbase from each one. Has been done in the past with other games (Archeage comes to mind, although over there you had to choose one or another). I’m from Latin America (Argentina) so it doesn’t really affect me much, will have high ping in both places, but if they do this now, and more latam players join, then eventually they might add a server for latam players :smile:

@PrinceMark

there is no SEA server, there is only ToS Indonesian Server that allows Malaysia and Singapore players to access indoToS via PlayOneAsia

these leaves Thai, Filipinos and Vietnamese players to default choice into the international server

While malaysian and singaporean can choose to play in Indonesia or International server

Indonesian players are block from international.

‘‘they already removed the OBT’’ so if it’s not even an OBT it’s not even near to be a launch…
‘‘And you did know that there is a NA region and EU region Servers right?’’ And you know they did a SA server right?

Maybe if the community is going to be big on ‘‘Early Access’’ of course they are going to open another server…

I will support as all i can`t wait 2 play.
It does not bothers me that is no completed yet and will be lag in the first days but with 3 or 4 server if Saule is available i supposes about in the first month at lest will be 5000 people, and when become 29.99 will 5 times more people and this will go on until is free.

So with this 3 months they will doing all the adjustments necessary when to F2P go out all the players have the minimum disturbance said that as alway the first day when free go out will be impossible to login due the quantity of people so yeah i prefer the early and paid access.

I am from South america the dollar price is ridiculous high and man if don’t wanna pay wait.
Their are analyzing the forums for sure they will have a EU, SAE and possible i hope a SA server.

  1. I agree that 3 months is too long, it should be at maximus 1 month, iddealy 2 weeks.

  2. the economy will be a problem unless they keep the founders server exclusive to founders. Most people dont know economics so if they let the founders sell theyr itens that they got during the low avaiability period (less players= less itens being sold) many players will put abusrd prices and cause inflation and thats a serious problem.

3)About the ping, they could make a international server with regional “centers” the centers would be servers (the fisical ones) and conect you to0 the main sever preventing the lag.

After playing a ton of online games i can assure you anything close to 200 ping is bordering on frustration. Everything becomes unresponsive and twitchy. It may be bareable, but it is far from good. Since they have already said they will open more than one server, at least 1 NA and 1 EU will keep everyone happy.

I’m sure they wont make that mistake once it goes live, unless they want even more backlash. More trickery is just going to dig them a deeper hole than the one they are in now

@PrinceMark

i understand but will need to wait, they will give to all regions a local server but Just a server o NA dedicated to SA and for NA won’t be enough when f2p go out and i think they should really se a option to have a transfer account between server like you pay 250 TP to transfer( but on the launch of the local server as happens with Riot games you have a month where is free to transfer you account)

Server transfers with a 3 month headstart is an extremelly bad idea. Besides they have stated there wont be server transfers, unless they change it in the future.

I know but forum is there if we ask a lot maybe things change in the future.
and in the 3 month they wont need a local server for each region, but after f2p the will need then where transfer account enters.

‘‘After playing a ton of online games i can assure you anything close to 200 ping is bordering’’ Naa, you didn’t have played alot of games, i can assure that! Planetside 2 / Tera online / Blade and Soul / Warhammer vermitide, and alot of more games, i play then with 150~270 ping and i have 0,5~1s delay and still playabe. If u care alot about these miliseconds don’t say alot of bullshit about the free players who wants a better price, because u aren’t the Beloved tree of savior knights…

I really don’t care about these servers on ‘‘Early Access’’ i m going to buy it anyway, but really people like PrinceMark makes me feel bad…

I could afford the $50 no problem, but this choice of action was horrible one that sets a bad precedent for the rest of the game. If IMC think that’s a good deal or fair value then I don’t want to stick around to see what else they’re going to pull even when it does go free. I’ve said before in another thread, just because I can afford to get ripped off doesn’t mean I’m willing.

  • I had friends I was talking about playing this with, they haven’t invested as much interest in the game as I have, but they were going to dip their toes in the TOS pool. Sticking a $50 price tag on that already makes it too easy to pass on. and I have no interest on playing on a half dead server full of white knights. (which I’ll elaborate on)
  • Okay, real talk. People who justify bad business decisions with “lel get a job” and “whatever devs need money” are the reason the F2P has turned to a quick get in - cash out experience as opposed to anything with long term sustainability. There’s more to supporting a game than throwing money at it. A few years ago I was playing a game called shin megami tensei: imagine by aeria games. Unfortunately, despite having an interesting base game, content was heavily leashed by the cash shop. But when people complained about this on the forum, the core community largely responded with “Whatever! Don’t like it? Don’t buy!” and pretty much people didn’t buy, then they didn’t play. And with a fraction of the community left the whales ended up dispersing. Imagine is dead now.
  • Polarizing a games audience is the worst thing that can happen. Even if free players don’t contribute directly to the monitization of the game, they make guilds to join and war with. They fill party slots in dungeon runs and arenas. They generate fan content that brings in other players- other players that do pay. They contribute to the market in buying and selling.When it comes to an MMO, other players are the content. Otherwise I’d just buy a single player game.
