  1. I agree that 3 months is too long, it should be at maximus 1 month, iddealy 2 weeks.

  2. the economy will be a problem unless they keep the founders server exclusive to founders. Most people dont know economics so if they let the founders sell theyr itens that they got during the low avaiability period (less players= less itens being sold) many players will put abusrd prices and cause inflation and thats a serious problem.

3)About the ping, they could make a international server with regional ā€œcentersā€ the centers would be servers (the fisical ones) and conect you to0 the main sever preventing the lag.

After playing a ton of online games i can assure you anything close to 200 ping is bordering on frustration. Everything becomes unresponsive and twitchy. It may be bareable, but it is far from good. Since they have already said they will open more than one server, at least 1 NA and 1 EU will keep everyone happy.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

I’m sure they wont make that mistake once it goes live, unless they want even more backlash. More trickery is just going to dig them a deeper hole than the one they are in now

@PrinceMark

i understand but will need to wait, they will give to all regions a local server but Just a server o NA dedicated to SA and for NA won’t be enough when f2p go out and i think they should really se a option to have a transfer account between server like you pay 250 TP to transfer( but on the launch of the local server as happens with Riot games you have a month where is free to transfer you account)

Server transfers with a 3 month headstart is an extremelly bad idea. Besides they have stated there wont be server transfers, unless they change it in the future.

I know but forum is there if we ask a lot maybe things change in the future.
and in the 3 month they wont need a local server for each region, but after f2p the will need then where transfer account enters.

ā€˜ā€˜After playing a ton of online games i can assure you anything close to 200 ping is bordering’’ Naa, you didn’t have played alot of games, i can assure that! Planetside 2 / Tera online / Blade and Soul / Warhammer vermitide, and alot of more games, i play then with 150~270 ping and i have 0,5~1s delay and still playabe. If u care alot about these miliseconds don’t say alot of bullshit about the free players who wants a better price, because u aren’t the Beloved tree of savior knights…

I really don’t care about these servers on ā€˜ā€˜Early Access’’ i m going to buy it anyway, but really people like PrinceMark makes me feel bad…

I could afford the $50 no problem, but this choice of action was horrible one that sets a bad precedent for the rest of the game. If IMC think that’s a good deal or fair value then I don’t want to stick around to see what else they’re going to pull even when it does go free. I’ve said before in another thread, just because I can afford to get ripped off doesn’t mean I’m willing.

  • I had friends I was talking about playing this with, they haven’t invested as much interest in the game as I have, but they were going to dip their toes in the TOS pool. Sticking a $50 price tag on that already makes it too easy to pass on. and I have no interest on playing on a half dead server full of white knights. (which I’ll elaborate on)
  • Okay, real talk. People who justify bad business decisions with ā€œlel get a jobā€ and ā€œwhatever devs need moneyā€ are the reason the F2P has turned to a quick get in - cash out experience as opposed to anything with long term sustainability. There’s more to supporting a game than throwing money at it. A few years ago I was playing a game called shin megami tensei: imagine by aeria games. Unfortunately, despite having an interesting base game, content was heavily leashed by the cash shop. But when people complained about this on the forum, the core community largely responded with ā€œWhatever! Don’t like it? Don’t buy!ā€ and pretty much people didn’t buy, then they didn’t play. And with a fraction of the community left the whales ended up dispersing. Imagine is dead now.
  • Polarizing a games audience is the worst thing that can happen. Even if free players don’t contribute directly to the monitization of the game, they make guilds to join and war with. They fill party slots in dungeon runs and arenas. They generate fan content that brings in other players- other players that do pay. They contribute to the market in buying and selling. When it comes to an MMO, other players are the content. Otherwise I’d just buy a single player game.

Ah thats a really nice idea. We cant expect from the staff to browse through the endless rant on this board to gather the quintessence of it.

Ok I’ve read the ranting already posted and the most of it is exactly what I don’t want the staff or higher ups to be bothered with. Guys. Please keep being realistic.

Based of IMCs original idea of the model we can assume they got cashflow problems and are in need of quick money now. Thats probably the reason they switched from OBT to this founder server stuff, delaying the actual OBT to June.

If I would need to explain why the price is so high and the duration so long, I’d have to assume they want to limit the playerbase to everyone who can actually afford the price. Going from that assumption, writing realistic critism is pretty much limited.

However, based on the model, assuming they want to stick with it, here my most constructive critism:

  • I need more information. Not only about why IMC had to consider this model in the first place, I want to know about what your plans are in the future. They cant just wait for the 22th and open as many servers as they see fit considering the amount of users AND open new servers on need. IMC may think dividing the players would be a solid idea to cause fairness, but its not. I don’t want to stick forever on a founder server alone, when the party fun servers are somewhere else. This will eventually force me to switch servers, resulting me in not only lose the time I spent before, I will lose all the stuff I bought using the 600 TP I got from the start.
This is a serious problem you cant avoid going this route. I heard IMC talking before that servertransfers are not going to be made, which terminates the only possible solution for this dilemma.
Honestly, I’d refrain from buying the founders package knowing I’d eventually be forced into this situation.

  • As I lack information about IMC’s intentions, especially regarding whether or why they want to limit the playerbase to such an amount, I cant tell if adding friend-keys to get at least ONE friend playing with you (only access, no free TP) would be a good idea. I have poor friends I would like to play with, but cant. If the limitation isn’t such a big problem, I’d suggest you to not only add at least one friendskey to the 3 months package, I’d even go as far as raising the TP given to at least 800-1000 tp to make the buying still lucrative.
This will cause a win-win situation for everyone, raising the maximum of players, causing to force you to open more servers from the start, causing to spread the users - preventing economical problems head on, and on top, having still players who need to buy TP from your cash shop since they start with 0.

Honestly. Most regards are being solved with that. Its even technically possible using steam.

Thats for me.

They probably know that the game is unfinished and still have lot of bugs/ unbalances… so insted of just say that game would release in June they wanted to sell the game for hyped people that wouldn’t care to play the game at this stage.

Make an Open Beta with wipe until June is the best option IMO.

I have no problem what you posted at first IMC. I’m not one of these people that freak out. I’ve Pre-order many games and beta tested many games.

funny thing is does anyone remember how WoW first started? or when Wraith of the lich king launch? it was all bad people who paid and pre-order the game was stick waiting a whole day to play on almost all thier server where down. on launch day. Blizzard is a huge gaming company and they had problems.

now for IMC there asking people to pay 49.99 to start and test the game early for them. I have no problem with this what so ever. Keep in mind the people who pay 49.99 well be testing the game and making it better for you people that are crying for a f2p game.

I’m done thanks for your time.

I agree.
The early access is already the launch of the game if wanna play in pay or wait for f2p.
This is not a closed beta so i don’t see a wipe out to make the whiners happy.

Did you just ask them to mute me. I:

  • Switch the 3-months thing with something else. Don’t do that to your players.
    (cosmetics or special titles/badges?)

  • That’s really it. I think the price was fine.

The thread has been updated accordingly.

Hi about this: ā€œNo EU, SEA server (default ping of 2-500 is not going to be acceptable)ā€

It would be nice to add South America (SA) as well. I don’t play from there but people that are from there will appreciate it.

@black_light

you can change the korean voice to japanese by editing some parameters in some .xml file. hopefully we can choose one ingame.

And here I thought they’d get copyright issues

Added.

Good to know. At least it shows that there is zero work with it, all they need to add is a button.

Mhh… I see you added the communication issue. Well. Would you add my suggested solution as well? As being a win-win-win solution IMC cant lose considering it. I’d like to make sure it reaches them~
