I donāt see how you can see any of these miniature characters as āhotā xD.
For me, this is situationalā¦
If I play Monk, I will play with a Male char, if I play Assassin (Aka Rogue) 70% chance to play a Male charā¦if I play any Swordsman class 99% chance to be a Male charā¦
but if I play any wizard class, 90% chance to play as Female character, or any other Archer class (excluding S. Reiter and Rogue) or Cleric class (excluding Paladin and Monk).
Why? Because I like it this way o.oā¦ I like roleplay but, also like the character look. Not everyone likes roleplay all the time, sometimes people only log in to have fun.
I like to see ladies summon meteors, giant shadow monters and healing the intire party members, or ridling an enemy till death with arrows and traps. And I like guys onehiting some foes, or tanking a stream of enemies aloneā¦
For me, the ToS female char are too cute and delicate to be assassins or tanks. I like the āfragile ladyā look of them.
But it is just my opinion too ^^
To answer you first questionā¦ probably my first character will be a male Rogue or female Wugushi.
The big question is, Is there going to be a gender locked classes?
Iāll make a female character. I just rather stare at a female for hours rather then a male
Actually, Iām a girl, but I prefer playing male chars. hahah
For me Iām using female chars for INSPIRATION!!
not for BOOBS, etc etc (seriously I can go to *****.com to watch nd women and its free xD)
Just dont take the game seriously, dont use the game to look for relationship or such because
in the end, youāll be surprise youāre in a wrong path,
Play and have fun not for love or deeper than that. 
I see no problem in using different characters, just as long as you arenāt doing it to catfish players and pretending youāre the opposite gender 
Female chars usually have better design on clothes. So Iāll make most of my chars Female, cuz I donāt care about gender, itās a ROLE PLAY GAME, so I can role anything I want. Discus about this in 2015 itās so 2002. ahahah

Usually in MMOs the guy character customization options are super ugly, but I like the male design in TOS.
I can understand why you would want to make a female character I guess. Sometimes itās a little creepy thinking āthis cute girl character right here is probably a middle aged manā but hey no judgement.

I had a Male and Female Friend on one game I played. Male friend fell in love with the Female friend of mine. Turned out that Female was a shemale. And he never actually knew that and I kind of felt bad for not telling him.
To be honest, this situation is very funny.
And I can imagine this happening a lot in ToS.

I prefer build a girl player because it feels like grown up a daughter become stronger.
You know you can not always protect them ā¦
Better teach them so they can protect themselves.
About male? they are strong enough for keep himself safe

im not creating female chars for nothing, i create my waifu!!. joking aside i play both gender, depend of name available atm. because as you know many āgoodā ign already snatch away. i will think later after i got my cbt key ( really hope so ) hahahahaā¦
Iāll probably play a female cause I just prefer their appearance in most games. Weāll see though.
I usually just play the gender I like the looks of, or the feel of. If non-gender is available (robots especially) Iāll usually take that hands down, but otherwise Iām mostly quite neutral on the matter.
