This is great I’m glad to here there are higher chances of increase xp rates
Right now as it is the exp seems fine, after nearly a week the highest level characters are just at around Lv100. To put this in perspective this is 1/5th of the max level. Meaning that in your average MMO where level 100 is the max, they’d be about level 20.
The core of this game is built around killing tons of mobs, If you really don’t like it now then you’re probably not going to like it at cap either.
all hail our savior!
I don’t mind the xp rates, my biggest issue with the game are the xp from bosses. Its a one time only kill that takes at least 5-10 minutes and they only give you 2k-3k. That’s really messed up.
I mean, the max level in kcbt3 was 200. That was supposed to be the cap. No surprise there is missing content. Also, this doesn’t explain the exp rates. The exp rates are low because they wanted to test a population’s reaction to the rates without having prior experience to any other form of rate.
I hope all these guys complaining about exp rates aren’t just players from private servers of other games.
Hahaha
Actually I don’t mind grinding. If it takes me a decay to reach max level then let it be as long as I can find my enjoyment in these 10 years playing. Right now I only feel so dreadful thinking about login into the game. Assume that there are many people who feel like me, as I see at least half of the community, then this is f**ked up, these people are even supposed to be biased about the game.
Now I will wait and see if this game is really not for me as some have said or will it turn out that I and many have been right all along. Whatever the case, I hope ToS will get it deserved success.
I doubt after all of this and they still won’t make any change though. It’s not like many of you “core-gamers” would quit the game just because they ease the early grinding, while it actually look like they are going to lose quite a handful of players and get many negative reviews if this keeps up. Without the early grinding, you will still be able to find much enjoyment in the game, experience various classes, builds and stuffs. With the early grind many people will never be able to have their own enjoyment because it is too much of a waste of time and effort for them to get into anywhere fun in the game.
Now I hope for something so that we all can have our own real enjoyment in the game, not only for a few of us and others have to leave.
Well maybe the game will have exp booster you could buy if exp rates are the same.
That’s practically a given but if there’s no in game equivalent or availability it just turns into pay2grindharder
Your average mmo also doesn’t have an exp table that looks like this: http://www.tosbase.com/game/exp-tables/base/
While i do like how the exp requirement spikes down at certain levels to give players a feeling of progress, the problem right now is how grindy it feels just getting to those spikes. Maybe if they were every 20-25 levels instead of 40 then it wouldn’t be so bad that a huge portion of the community is complaining about it. I used to play an mmorpg with max lvl of 60, and it took over a week just to hit 20 and several months to hit 30. The grinding was so bad that within a year or 2 of the games release, it was completely overrun with bots and then eventually private servers with crazy high exp rates, and that is NOT what i want happening to ToS.
Also, we are not complaining about the gameplay, more mmos need the ability to mob things and kite/dodge skill shots like ToS has, which makes me look forward to things like max level PvP, guild battles, and the most challenging end-game dungeons/boss raids even more. What we are complaining about is the lack of feeling like we are making any progress after a few hours of playing, its one of the reasons i went off exploring every map available in the beta, it was so much more fun to me than grinding was at lvl 40+
Best post on the stupid EXP rate complaints. Look, this is CBT, the exp rates are there to make you test a certain aspect of the game. Beta Testers (note: NOT PLAYERS) that spend too much effort arguing the exp rate, which can be fixed by a few keystrokes (literally) have no idea why they are in a CBT.
at this rate no one would ever be able to play with 80 classes in the game, no one will want or have time to invest in two or more characters
So?
It’s not like someone is holding a gun to your head and telling you to reach a certain level in a certain time. I don’t see the problem with this.
You don’t have to “keep up” with anyone, you don’t have to reach the endgame (we don’t even know if there will be such a thing yet) and you don’t have to stress yourself about not having enough time. In the end we will all experience more or less the same content.
If you find games with slower leveling progress boring then why play a MMO?
I Feel the same way i actually felt the game was leveling me too fast if you go as the game is teaching yo… to grind maps 10 Lv+ yours you get a steady income of XP… i really hope they lower it at least a little bit… and Ofc boost the exp from the bosses… which atm feel way too lackluster
YOU WANT TO LOWER THE EXP ? SERIOUSLY ?
Lv 10 player pls STFU and leave, please, for all of the saviors sake
Thanks for the clarification and good work ouo Glad to see people being thoughtful!
Way more fun for players with above average skill and other MMO experience - YES!!!
Players who have life, school, work, family, other fun games to play and no MMO experience - NO PLS.
You sir and the others who also have this idea of fun are on top of the “destroying the game community” list.
Yeah got to 65 in two days that’s too fast and i was soloing lol…
my only complain is the bosses… they really aren’t worth… just the item drops mostly and the cards
May I ask how did you get to level 65 in just 2 days? How many hours did you invest in those 2 days?
Personally, I invested 5 hours without exploration apart from pure questing & grind, I could only get to level 36.
Perhaps, I wasn’t very lucky with blues but I’m very curious how did you do it any how many hours did you invest in those 2 days.
hacks + 24/7 grind, what else ?
I don’t know, knowing the game and how to efficiently hunt (such as bringing alternate weapons to counter the enemies strong against your primary damage)
Or less sulking in the town ‘boohoo it requires too much exp I can’t even max level in a week’ and just go out hunting with the sort of ‘I wonder what sort of surprise I’ll run into today’
