EXP Rate lower than KR version

so let my leveling experience be different from yours, lol. if you want to explore every inch what’s stopping you?

Probably the fact that people always go for the quickest option, If I didn’t do it as well all my friends would be way ahead of me. Then they’d hit max level, get bored and quit before I could even catch up.

If you want to hit “endgame” as soon as possible, you’re going to be very disappointed once you reach it in this kind of game.

It’s better in that way!!

You wouldn’t be able to catch up if it was grindier either, lol. More grind or less grind doesn’t really change anything. I don’t understand why people think making a game faster will cause people to get bored in quit. People are going to quit regardless, a lot of people on other MMORPGs quit before they even reach cap.

I personally would rather better exp rates so I can try out the plethora of class combinations this game has to offer. There’s a reason we can customize our Lodge/barracks right? A reason why we can have about 11 characters per account right?

From what I understand this game is about the 80 classes. That’s what they’re focusing on…that’s what they plan on balancing and updating the most right?

I’ll just throw this out there.

We (the players) have lives of our own. We shouldn’t expect to turn this game into a full time job where we just grind. It’s gotten to the point where grind spots are becoming competitive, and this saddens me.

I’ve spent a full 24 hours on the game, where about 3/4 of that is grind. I don’t consider this experiencing the game, I consider it a major hassle. I don’t mind the grind early on, but it’s going to require a lot of dedication from the players if they want to get into this game, and there’s not many out there.

In 24 hours, I’ve gotten myself to level 28. Doing some math, it would take me (and this varies from person to person) about 18 days of playing to hit level 500.

Your friends out leveling you? This is going to be a social game, where you sit and chat with your friendssssssssssssss. You can make NEW friends on the way to catching up with your old friends.

I dont have much of an issue with it personally but since I know this would cause a lot of people to leave prematurely the initial 1-45 experience should be significantly faster so people can access the more fun and interesting skills/classes available.

I find the most fun aspect of this game is diminished by the grind. A game with multiple branches of classes to pick and choose from and a plethora of builds to try the most obvious thing that stands out as a cool feature would be making a whole bunch of characters and trying all sorts of different combinations of classes and abilities but the heavy grind especially this early on deters anyone from really ever wanted to do that. People will either just stick with one character or just quit before getting anywhere as early game in MMO’s are rarely ever fun. I don’t mind grindy late game as when you have access to more skills and abilities the grind isn’t as bad but early on it’s just a chore. How many times really do you want to do levels 1-40 our of 500 when the game becomes a grind in the 30’s?

the exp rate really needs to be drop extremely lower. Drop rate needs to be way higher so we can experiment and experience the server in full so the tos team really knows where the games at.

Please note that this is all based on my personal experience and in no way resembles fact, but is instead completely opinion and is not here to wrong anyone. Thank you.
Yeah, I personally have no problem with forced group play. After all, it causes parties to try to use the classes of their fellow members to synergize and that I find more interesting than being able to solo everything. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with solo-ing content, however it shouldn’t be an easy feat by any means, otherwise you might as well somehow include some sort of “solo mode”. Speaking of content being solo-able, I guess on second thought it would be interesting to allow players to build their classes for either synergizing with party members or being able to solo content. Which brings me to my next point: Isn’t part of the fun of this game being able to build your character uniquely in terms of stats and skills (+attributes)?

At the moment I am in a party with players I’ve become decently close with and we’ve gotten to Tenet Chapel (Lvl 40) while being ~Lvl 30. Yes, the content there isn’t the easiest and we need to catch up. So we backtracked and took the time to think/plan grind strategies. Admittedly, this type of grind isn’t appealing to everyone and judging from what everyone’s been saying, it isn’t the best in terms of execution right now. I think what the problem with MMOs is the rush for endgame since it’s usually where all the fun bits are. In fact, I seem to be traveling back and forth through multiple areas hence it gives me a chance to learn and spend time in them. I’ve also found fun in simply healing other players as a Priest and setting up random bonfires to rest at. This EXP rate may not be the best, however I can’t say I dislike the notion of forced group play since if it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t be having so much fun spending time with my party members. On a brief sidenote, I do hope the friend’s list will be fixed (despite the fact everything will be wiped).

Anyways, I’ve been testing from 7PM until 2AM (Usually until 12 or 1) each day and I must say that I’m not disappointed by my pace of progression (In fact, I don’t feel cheated in any way). However if the EXP curve is indeed an exponential curve then I do fear for how grindy the 3-digit levels will become. Personally I conclude that MMOs are meant to be fun in different ways for every different individual whether it’s being able to solo, be the best at PVP/PVE, be on top of leaderboards, play with friends, socializing, etc. The point is: the whole point of a game being a Massively Multiplayer Online game is literally within the abbreviation itself. Making an MMO isn’t easy both from a design standpoint and economic (Since I assume they’re VERY expensive) so I personally am happy that IMCGames was able to make it thus far. I am rather confused about the whole reasoning behind the EXP Rate in Closed Beta and how higher level content is being tested, yet I am more confused at the animosity and mess of opinions regarding the EXP rate.

Anyways that concludes my nonsensical, opinionated/bias mess of a spiel about what I feel about this issue at 3AM in the morning. Again, this is my opinion and there are going to be some points that are disagreeable however please note that I am not here to say anyone is wrong but rather have my voice heard. Listen to it, scrutinize it, respond to it, however I ask that you merely treat this respectfully as just my opinion. Feel free to agree or disagree however you like. Anyways, good night/morning!

You should split that wall of text up with some paragraphs. It’s extremely hard to read.
