[Equipments] Chaplain/PD [GONE WRONG, IN THE HOOD]

Hey guys, i got some questions about equipments for the cleric class, im going c1>p3>c>c2>pd, my build is mostly focused on spr and con with some str to help my attack, however i plan to reset this points later and go full spr with some con and int

At this moment im sitting on Valia/Arde Dagge + Cafrisun set

1-At lvl 170 which roxona set should i use? I feel like plate is good for the defense but cloth also has good magic defense and bonuses for the class

2-About the weapon for 170+ , im between Catacombs Club and Ignition[or maybe you recommend another weapon?], my build is kinda hybrid, i got some str so i can solo when needed but my main focus is on my spr to boost my specialities such as mass heal and stone skin

3-Is it good to keep arde dagger for higher levels, change it for a karasha or swap to aias shield, maybe something else? Im not sure

4-Have no idea about the rings/bracelet to use, maybe the wizard one, but im really clueless about that part, would love some recommendations

5-About Hats, ive seen those hats with really cool bonuses for magic amplification and extra elemental dmg, but, for a support which status should i try to get on these hats?

Thank you guys in advance for reading this and trying to give me some good advice
All hail god Talt~

1 - Plate is best, imo. Cloth is fine, but if you’re going full SPR then you’ll get M. Def from that too. P. Def and more HP is more important to me.
2 - Catacombs Club + Otrava Shield is what I use right now. I’ve read that Ignition is really good though…haven’t tested it, but I like Catacombs a lot. All that hp and 400 something M. Atk (blue gems, m. atk awakening) from the weapon itself helps me a lot.
3 - I use Venom/Otrava Shield but you can continue using Arde or a good shield like Otrava/Aias/Sage Wall.
4 - I use 2x wizard bracelet. Moar dmg.
5 - I prioritize headgear with Magic Attack, Magic Amplification, and Elemental Property Damage. Health isn’t a bad option either.

I see, where is the magic attack/magic amplification applied? Is it applied only on my heals or is also boosting my auto attack damage and the buffs? The auto attack with a mace is considered physical right? I mean, does those magic attack/amp bonuses affect the buffs so i get moar dmg on that matter as well? Thanks dude

Magic Attack and Magic Amp boosts Heal, Cure, both Exorcism skills (lol), Aspersion, Aspergillum, and Incineration’s damage. So it’s boosting your auto damage when Aspergillum is active. The initial hit with any weapon for Clerics will be considered physical damage and won’t be boosted by M.Atk/M.Amp. They also don’t affect your buff scaling.

hey, I was just coming on to ask a similar question.
I’m reaching the lvl200 mark and want to start investing in long term equipment.
I’m going the typical C>P3>Chap>Cleric2>PD build.
Seeing as you have some idea can you help me with a few questions.

  1. What kind of role do i play in party? Obviously my main role will be support, heals, buffs and the works. But do people want their Clerics to stay on the backlines and concentrate on keeping everyone alive or should i be up there smacking the boss too?
    **Not sure if i should go pure defencive gears, offencive or mixed. ATM my gears too good compared to the people i party with and I’m often stealing aggro which makes it quite hard to play support.(if the boss is on me, kind of hard to chase around team members to heal)
  2. Plate vs Cloth?? Plates more for pdef while cloth is more mdef based. Makes me wonder since I’m going 1:1 spr/con with stoneskin+shield i’m going to be blocking alot of physical already, could the extra mdef from cloth come in handy??
  3. Aias vs Sagewall? Basically same as question above, pdef vs mdef. I’m currently using Toy Hammer+venom for dps but want catacombs club+shield for when i need to be more supportive.

Thanks in advanced :slight_smile: I like to plan ahead but without know whats ahead of me hard to make a gameplan.

no. go Int with some con and spr.
int will add to most of your damage. spr mostly affects mass heal and stoneskin.

also, you can’t buy stat reset potions, so if you don’t have one laying around, you need to rethink this plan.

m.atk / m.amp add to your magical attacks. hitting things with your mace is still physical, but most of your damage will probably come from Aspergillum, which is magical.

i go hit things. i seem to attract other clerics, so i’m usually not the one built for healing. i throw buffs and wade right in.

Actually with toy hammer(best dps weapon for chaplain) str offers more DPS then int but you gimp your heal.
With Cafrisun and Toy Hammer you get :
5x elemental property dmg (added to each atk)
3x patk (1 from base weapon atk, then explosion does 4x atk every other swing)
2x matk (with max aspersion enhance; RIP 24kk)

Without Cafrisun set, be
4x elemental
2.6x patk
2x matk

SPR is the same as matk but INT scales better with rank bonus.

And before anyone argues, toy hammer is the best DPS weapon(exluding the aoe atk ratio from catacombs which could theoretically double DPS).
Anyways Catacombs Club is still best supportive weapon due to extra matk and hp but Toy Hammers best DPS even without any str invested.

And so i guess chaplains role is hybrid support? ATM i’m lvl175 and I usually play as Buffs, DPS and off heals. Just not sure rather or not content will get harder endgame where risk/reward ratio favours clerics in the back cause as we all know, a dead cleric cant heal :smiley:

I think we are like half buff and half DPS, i’m a badass chaplain where I smaking the boss and sometimes out DPS others XD.

Are you sure about the int? I mean, mass heal is affected from both Int and Spr but what int will help most will be the amount of healing from heal , boost my aspergillium (by 1-1 each point) cure, and my incineration while Spr give me better Stone skin,depotrected zone, Mass heal a boost in Sp recovery , max sp pool , magic defense , block penetration, aspersio and monstrance.

Really hard choice to choose between those 2 stats, i may end up putting at least some amount to int

Thing is with int vs spr is int gets a 10% bonus per a rank up to 70% at rank 7.
So at rank 7 your getting 1.7int or 1.7matk per a point used compared to 1 from spr(It would actually be more since you get bonus points aswell which become more noticable later on:eg 500+int gets you 2int per a point in int, which would be easier to reach with the rank bonus)
And yeah stats are a struggle for me aswell. I stopped adding stats at 100con/spr. Not sure how much i need for viable hp/stone skin later on.
I think adding INT will make me a better support 100 points into int is over 200int which will add up with all the heal times you can throw down as cleric2.

That being said, does anyone know how much con(or rather hp) and spr you need for endgame content? Would like to invest the rest into INT for better heals/dps.

@Viturino
It really depends what you want. If you want more tankiness and strong buffs, SPR should be your highest stat. If you want more DPS, then go INT. Your Heal tiles are better with Int too, though. I actually was running 100con/100spr and rest in Int but I used my founder’s stat reset to go Int/Con because I decided I wanted more damage. Keep in mind, I’m Druid C2 so my support options are less than yours are.

@HowYouSoGudd
I have enough CON (around 98 or 100 iirc…can’t check right now) to hit 20k hp with Catacombs Club and Plate Armor + Plate Mastery. Max Petamion and Venom give me close to 23k hp; I’m not having any problems.

Post 200 it’s hard to auto attack a group of elite mobs. So your last two cirlces dictate what else you would be doing besides support in the end game.

Party comp for grinding parties can alleviate this, but you won’t be out dpsing true dps classes.

That being said, chaps are a very smooth ride up to that point :o

@Sandstorm
So, basically, i have 3 main options:
DPS - Invest more in INT, use a Venom instead of a shield and cloth for more atk and magic amp/magic attack hats

Support - Invest more in SPR,use health bonus hats, keep all buffs up, have a really strong Stone skin and mass heal, also, use a plate set and shield to stay alive,

Hybrid - Go half SPR half INT, be able to have strong heals and deal damage to an extent

Full cloth won’t give you more matk/amp, it’s just the gloves. So you can actually do 3 piece plate, 1 piece cloth for the hp+phys damage reduction, and use cloth gloves for magic amp.

Your full build also helps determine your stat build too. You have more incentive to stack int if you have more damaging circles as your last two circles for example.

@dualshielder756
Didnt knew about the gloves thing, good info
I may stick to SPR then, my friends are for most part full dps and i want my role to be the one to stay behind keep everyone safe with good buffs and some heals, i like to contribute a bit with dmg when im idle as well and everyones life is capped, however, i want my main role to be a medic.

EDIT: Just remembered i need to know more about the debuff count for the PD, how does it work exactly? When i use Pandemic do i need to full debuff first 1 mob then spread with Pandemic or Pandemic itself uses all debuffs automatically like capella with buffs?
Also, which debuffs do i have for incinerate bonus with this build? C1>P3>C>C2>PD (considering ill put at least 1 point in every single skill)

@Viturino
Yes. I recommend full plate no matter which build you take, tbh. I run full plate with no points invested in SPR and I’m not having any problems. I’d still prioritize the same stats on your headgear for whichever way you go. I was just saying that +HP isn’t bad.

Also, your debuffs for Incineration in your build are Cure, Deprotected Zone, Monstrance, and Exorcise.

Pandemic will attempt to spread debuffs to its target count within an area of yourself using the closest mob with debuffs as a base for what it will try to spread.

I’d look up a list of what’s pandemic-able, not all debuffs can be spread :x

@Sandstorm
About the headgear stats, are you referring to SPR on it? I mean, same stats as in my stats build?
Hmm, does magnus exorcism also counts as debuff or is it just a advanced version of exorcise? I guess pandemic lvl 1 is more than enough for me then since ill not exceed 5 debuffs, im planning on put 5 points healing factor, 5 incinerate, 1 pandemic , 1 beak mask and 3 bloodletting.
(am i interpreting pandemic wrong when i read “applies max of 5 times”? Is that referring to 5 different monsters or 5 different debuffs) Sorry for so many questions but those skills are not well explained :confused: and sometimes i get really confused

You’re good dude.

Magnus is not a status, it becomes a holy fire pillar basically.

Pandemic’s application max of x times means how many targets it will spread to, so level 5 will spread up to 5 targets.

Hi Guys, I’ve read the whole thread and thank you all for clearing a lot of my questions reagarding SPR vs INT as a chap. My build is a more support oriented one but I didn’t take Cleric C2 and replaced it with Krivis C1 instead for more debuffs and party buffs. I’m aiming for Chap and PD too. (Will get the Chap in my 6th Rank as I am currently Cleric C1-Krivis C1-Priest C3) and my current stats are 20int 50con 100spr. (Invested Points w/o equipment and other bonuses)

In you opinions, how much points should I invest in INT If I’m planning to be more on the side of support rather than dps but would also want to deal a decend amount of dps when needed?

Thanks in advance. Sorry for the interruption. I just cant stop myself from asking because obviously, all of you in this thread knows many things regarding the class. :smile:
