Equipment Potentials

This is a great system for the longevity of the game - it means after the game has been out for years and years the market won’t be flooded with perfect items (at least not nearly as badly as games without this system).

This is good for everyone except maybe those that Originally make the perfect items, but even they can benefit from it as the value of a perfect item with potential left on it will be extremely sought after.

This also prevents things like Twinking, to a certain extent.

It is IMO one of the best systems implemented in a game that has an itemization system where you upgrade items +1-10 or more.

Well… Twinking would still be somewhat possible by trading the recipe of an item (I don’t know if the best items are crafted or not) and trading the required items to craft said item.

The upgrades wouldn’t be there but generally, upgrading an item isn’t hard since you just need Anvils atm. Sockets as well seem to be the same way as you just trade your best gem and open a socket using the potential.

Besides Item Awakening, I don’t think it’d be that hard to twink if you had the money for it.

understood - i had no idea how it worked
thanks for clarifying

The potential system is the answer to the bind on pickup issue that many mmos have. It’s brilliant really. bind on pickup was always really frustrating but often necessary and this solves it beautifully.

Actually, it seems likely to be designed to sell upgraded weapons instead. You can’t lose potential if you don’t have any potential anymore, meaning trading will still be there but most efficient way to do it would be to upgrade it first - or to order upgrades on an item, which means you employ a person to farm a weapon, upgrade it and only then you’d pay for a finished product.

Or well you’re supposed to do all of that yourself if you can be arsed I guess.

Doesnt it need to use up potential to trade?

If you havent tested it out, don’t teöll us your deduction witjout facts.

xD

It does, how does that invalidate my view on devs design of potential?

If it doesn’t have anymore potential.
It shouldn’t be tradeable anymore… given that it would need to take potential for the trade.
That is.

I dont see the reason why.

Potential Lowers when itens durability goes to zero?

No, when durability reach 0 you can not use the item until you repair it, but potential will not lower. Potential only lowers for the actions @FatePGN mentioned in the first reply.
