"Enraged" Bosses

I was wondering if the bosses get stronger when they get lower health.

If not, this is my suggestion:

When the boss’s health gets to 50%, their movement and attack speed increase by 20% and the damage increases by 30%.

When it hits 20%, the boss spams his skills more frequently and minions spawn faster with a 10% increase in damage and attack speed.

Just a suggestion to spice up the boss fight.

sounds interesting. that happened all the time in bloodborne. it made the bosses so fun! :blush:

i can see this kind of thing happening in dungeons,raids and field bosses, but not on quest bosses. it would be too difficult…

I’d hope for something much more creative.

Just increasing the numbers and frequencies makes them more difficult in a generic sense alright, but what I’d rather see is Bosses (and other mobs even) to change their behavior in unique ways, rather than just go on speed/power-ups.

I mean if it started attempting to get away and regenerate back to half it’s health, or if it started using completely different attacks, or change it’s weaknesses etc… there is surely tons of aspects to play around with besides just outright boosting them to crazy levels.

Yea, I hope they do something else to make bosses more difficult, too. Enrage timers feel like a lazy/cheap way to make content more difficult. It’s one of the things I disliked about the endgame raids in the last MMO I played.

I don’t mind some bosses having enrage timers, but I’d like other things to spice up the fight. A change in pattern, some randomness, different phases and forms, ignoring the tank, fake “telegraphs”, etc. (Are there proper tanks in this game? I know there are roles that need to be filled, but from the videos and things I’ve read, I haven’t seen any real tanking.)

Although the HP threshold seems too low for it to matter. Also ignore the fact that the boss does nothing for 3 or so min before going berserk, that was a CBT2 bug.

I agree. I guess I can accept enrage mechanics to an extent as long as they do not force a timer on the player like the “kill boss within X time or you die”-kind of thing they did in D3. Giving new unique changes to bosses about to die would be cool. Ie new attack pattern, weapon switch, different tactic or such would be nice, but depending on the amount of work it’d take to design this maybe it’d be better to just create a few new bosses for diversity’s sake.
