English CBT 1 Survey Results

As @yeule said, the wording for Question #2 (and others) is rather tricky. For that specific case I realized what people thought when facing the option I had no problem understanding the game was exactly that. Because they literally didn’t, thanks to linguistic intuition (or thanks to a good portion of the testers not being native English speakers anyway). But that’s not what the option was really aiming for. I think it was intended to be more of a There’s no grammar or syntax errors whatsoever, every text was fully translated but lines could use some minor touching-up to make them feel less stiff.

The other two negative feedback options are outright too extreme (Mistranslations, untranslated texts and typos made it impossible to proceed with the game) or super vague (Very uncomfortable). And it was in no way Splendid.

I guess I could have chose " Very uncomfortable" but tbh I wasn’t…

I comprehend the options as Good, Understandable, Unplayable, & Uncomfortable – Out of those four the best option for me is understandable. I understood the story and what the game/quest was telling me to do! However, that doesn’t mean I think the current translation is good.

I’d say anyone who couldn’t decipher it probably doesn’t know english very well.

@Chebus oi vey – out of my entire playthrough as archer/sapper that was the one translation that was the worst for me. I will give you that!!

@alkaid Yea, if I had a do over i might change my answer. The impossible part and the very part were just too strong for me. @_@;;;

@harimaku Thanks, just found the email.

The thing is, the translations are bad indeed but they don’t halt your progress through the game (like getting lost on a quest chain or just having no idea on what to do next).

That being said, option 2 is quite accurate.

The answer to the translation question may be what IMC uses to decide whether to hire a professional translation team or continue using their current method of translation.

Based on the results of that question alone, with only 15% saying it is “bad”, if I were IMC I would opt to continue with their current method.

Luckily for us IMC put the “translations are detrimental to the game” option later on where IMC will see that the quality of translations wasn’t actually that good.

I really do hope they get some professional translator help!

I’m also pretty concerned with how many people are complaining about using normal attacks?? If they kept things as is but allowed us to spam more skills the game would be tooooo easy. >_<;; Unless these people are really suggesting they rebalance the entire game allowing skills to not be as powerful so they can be used more… but that sounds much less fun. It was satisfying using a strong skill and having to manage its use between sp/cooldown.

Yeah and people really should know that max level is 500 and there are 80 classes. Its not end of the world if u suck in low level areas.

Thats why we all can relax a bit. I think beta testers at least dont get in the same trap twice :sunglasses:

I read this question as “should we increase SP regen?” And my answer for that is yes.

I don’t even think the way how people play will change that much, spammers will just buy a few less SP potions and my sitting time will be reduced by some seconds.

Reliance on normal attacks 38% Does this mean they are going to reduce cooldowns?

Interesting things to read. I hope they allow more people to join in the next beta.

oh…now the translation seems a bit wierd…but i didnt realize it when i was playing
cuz i automatically interpret the sentense to “when mounted give 20% additional damage of physical attack to monsters”
i thought public type means all

i wasn’t paying much attention to how good the translation is as long as i can understand it…cuz i think native english speakers will do a better job in making the translation better than i did

That attribute gives +20% damage to flying type monsters per level of the attribute.

Not that anyone actually figured that out.

So how many people in that little survey was actually in beta and how many alts block voted?

-I’m not gonna vote-

The attribute picture made it seem like that much more than the text unfortunately…

yes… cuz i dont have enough silver to buy a mount or enough time to play up to hunter to get the mount…
hence wasn’t able to test this out

The real time translator tool was usable? NO IT WASN’T, IT DIDN’T WORK AT ALL.
[/quote]Hate to burst your bubble, but it did. If you were a translator and/or read IMCGames’s instructions on how to enable it. Normal testers didn’t need access to it, which is why it wasn’t enabled by default.

315 North America, 247 South America, 151 Europe, 89 Asia, 1 Africa, 21 Oceania, 52 Other. Where are those guys who put “Other” from? Antarctica? In the middle of some ocean?? Space???

Could be in the middle of the ocean. People in the Navy do play games sometimes.

Noted the question for the region is: If you experienced lags, where did you connect from?
this question is only for the people who experienced lags in game.
so i didn’t select anything in this question, but i think i was put into ‘Other’ in the summary
