End of partnership between Level Up Games and IMC (pt-br)

On topic post: I find it amusing that IMC’s so terrible that even terrible publishers can’t stand them.

i agree with this topic

Se a IMC já tá cagando com o proprio server, imagine como seria o de um 3rd party… a lug já não tem boa fama, seria entrar em roubada mesmo.

And what is your evidence? A quick search on Google? Are you an avid etymologist or some Wikipedia Professor?

It does stand because you are saying one thing and doing another thing. Double standards are still up, and my case still stands.

LUG sucks. There’s no doubt about that. But just take a moment to read carefully what the heck OP posted. Even a company as bad as LUG wanted out of a partnership with IMC. Their motives for doing so are very understandable and no player should be surprised since everyone here suffers from said mismanagement (bad communication and such). the end of the partnership between IMC and LUG is not something to be happy about because at the end of the day it means less players aware of/playing the game. Then you have dozens of problems on silute causing players to leave everyday.

Why should you care about people leaving if you enjoy playing the game? Because less players equals less revenue for IMC and that translates to a bad future for the game since no company will keep investing in a game without financial incentives

Just my two cents

Just to chime in… My husband is from El Salvador, which is a Central American country, so he speaks Spanish fluidly. He said in most countries it is not a derogatory word, it just means you do not speak Spanish and are from America. Now in America however he refrains from calling people that because they tend to misconstrue it as something derogatory which is what is happening in this thread.

Oh, I do know Spanish. Maybe your husband needs more education.

Maybe you do. 0.0

But hey be offended, your prerogative.

Nah, I’m not. It is a derogatory term and people are just using double standards. My point still stands. It’s so hard to battle against ignorance anyway. Even so, trying is not a bad thing. : )

The things I end up Googling…

grin·go
ˈɡriNGɡō/
nouninformal
(in Spanish-speaking countries and contexts, chiefly in the Americas) a person, especially an American, who is not Hispanic or Latino.

Definition.

Now from what I read, it originated in Spain in the 1800’s to describe people who spoke Spanish poorly, mostly Irish immigrants.

Then there is this:

One theory has it that there was no mention of the word “gringo”, in any publication in New Spain, or what would later be Mexico, until 1847, following the US occupation of northern Mexico during the Mexican–American War.[citation needed] Marching songs reportedly sung by US soldiers, such as “(Green Grows the Grass in) My Old Kentucky Home” and “Green Grow the Lilacs”, became popular in Mexico.[26] This theory also has it that native Spanish speakers have difficulty pronouncing a second “r” in “green grows”, which was elided as “green-gos”. Shortly afterwards Mexico City newspapers like El Universal and Excelsior began to use the word “gringos” for Americans.[citation needed] The English-born Frances Calderon, who published an account of her husband’s terms as the first ambassador to Mexico from Spain (from 1842) never mentioned the word, even though she was fluent in Spanish, and familiar with Mexican vernacular.[citation needed] The word was never used in reference to the English-speakers who had settled in Texas when it was part of Mexico, although the settlers were known by names such as filibusteros, presbeterianos, vikeños, judios, hereticos, protestantes, and barbarianos.[citation needed]

Then specifically regarding Brazil, which has even less of an attachment of race:

In Brazil, the word gringo means simply foreigner, and has no connection to any physical characteristics or specific countries. Unlike most Hispanic American countries, in which gringo is never used to refer to other Latin Americans, in Brazil there is no such distinction in the use of the term. Most foreign footballers in the Brazilian Championship that came from other Latin American countries and are nevertheless referred as “gringos” by the sport media [30][31] and by sport fans.[32] Tourists are called gringos, and there is no differentiation in the use of the term for Latin Americans or people from other regions, like Europe. [33]

As the word has no connection to physical appearance in Brazil, black African foreigners are also called gringos,[34] unlike some other countries in which the term implies fair skin. Popularly-used terms for fair-skinned and blond people are generally based in specific nationalities, like “alemão” (i.e., German), “russo” (Russian) or, in some regions, “galego” (Galician)[35] which are used for both Brazilians[36][37] and foreigners [38] with such characteristics, regardless of their real ethnic origins.

Again though, if you want something to be a bad thing, you can think it is. There is a lot of information out there about it, and the only place I see anything referencing it as a bad thing is the Urban Dictionary, where you could probably find cow defined as a cat.

Again, my point still stands. You just proved it, but thank you anyway. <3

Double standards

Since people are in the Google/Wikipedia spirit these days, here:

How? If it has any attachment to race, it’s merely in origin.

From personal experience, I am around a lot of Hispanic people daily since I’m married to one. I’ve not heard the term used in a derogatory manner, only in reference.

This is one of those cases though where I could put any information in front of you, and you’d still say the sky is purple because that’s how you perceive it.

Edit: And the things you’re editing in are about perception. So alright, your perception is the sky is purple, no technical definition or information on its use will make a difference to you. Remember, facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Frankly, I would totally talk about this if we ever hang out as colleagues and go to a decent coffee shop and discuss about such wonderful topics, but I think we have already shown our viewpoints. Moving on~

Regarding IMC and your server [SA]

1 - The company does not care if the people who are in it are going through difficulties
2 - It also does not seem to mind in trying to solve the problem, is not her interest.
3 - By the time it was announced that the [SA] server would be relocated to the US, the game for those who play on that server over.
It would be simpler to transfer them to open the Orsha and Klaipedia and leave as it was before, since we have no ping differentiation and play with the same ping as the game had closed access.

Now about personal opinions that put the page on the topic.

4 - The company did not have to make this distinction about having a server’s own Steam and LUG company has a server. Since the LUG server is unique to the Brazilians and the server on Steam is for all of South America. Just think groundless this issue that it should not have an official server on Steam has entered into partnership with LUG.

5 - At least it would result in a region of restriction on Steam and would stay that not Elsword, where Brazilians have no access to the Steam server and contains the most updated content of the game, having to resort to play in the LUG server, which is out of date.

6 - Overall I agree with the criticism made the company. He has behaved as an amateur company and has no responsibility nor interest in keeping their game with a good reputation. And no, the problem is not Brazil, other companies have their localized games in South America and has no such problems all

Personal opinion

IMC while not adjust the game, solve problems, not sell items for real money. Stop pushing updates with clothes and etc and work to resolve your game. It is very bad character in sell-games for real money while your game is falling apart.

Then again, I’m so glad! This thread is pure garbage and it needs to be locked.
