End Game Discussion

This is probably both a discussion as much as a suggestion. Mods could move this thread accordingly depending how it turns out. (I didn’t mean that sarcastically, though im sure someone will read it as such.)

Is anyone confused about TOS’s endgame content? I don’t think anyone really wants to see level 3947585968930 characters do we? Is there a planned cap for ranks? I guess no one really has any idea where this game is going, but where would you like it to go?

Personally, I feel like they should cap the ranks to 10. After rank 10, perhaps there can be a reset system which then would allow cross character rankings. That is we can be a cleric c3, barbarian c2, elementalist. Sure balancing this would be a mess, but as with all MMOs balancing should only happen to some degree. It’s not a MOBA. If you want to play some OP class, you’re free to do so. Else you can try to suprise someone with a more interesting combination. I just feel like that would be the most interesting end game to a game which advertises a job system.

Any other thoughts on the end game? I just don’t think doing rank 8/9/10/11/12/13 is exactly where this game should go…

I read somewhere at some point (very specific I know) that the planned level cap is 600. So whatever that works out to for ranks…

Not sure what end game looks like, not sure I want a “reset level for benefits” type thing though…

Bosses that can’t be steamrolled would be nice though.

I think they’ve gone away from the level 600 cap idea or they’re about to change things up again

Item tiers went

1,15,40,75,120,170,220,270.
Which is
(14, 25, 35,45,50,50,50) level difference.
Going to assume either its going to stay 50, to our next progression (so 320) or it’s going to start increasing by some higher interval. 50 if they give up on the whole level 600 thing.

End game in Tree of Savior as it stands:

You can’t grind for exp cause you’re already at the level cap.

There’s no point to full clearing the dungeons since you’re already at the level cap. So dungeons are just a brief 5 minute boss rush each day.

Saalus Convent mission rewards are untradeable, unshareable, and only useful to a very small amount of builds, so there isn’t much point to that in the end game.

Collections stopped at the level 230 areas, so there really isn’t that much to end game there either.

PvP is for the most part meaningless.

World bosses are on a ridiculously long spawn timer that requires you to be in the top six to get anything, which means they are pointless for any player who isn’t the top six (IE, every one of the hundreds or thousands of players who aren’t the top six). Even if you ARE in the top six, they aren’t really FUN to camp since they die so quickly and you still have to wait 4 hours for each one.

That just leaves Earth Tower, of which if you aren’t one of the meta builds, you won’t be able to complete the lolopanther set anyways since that requires floor 20. And you generally need a good guild and regular group to do it, so if you aren’t able to get that, no earth tower for you either.

So basically ToS end game = Nothing, unless you can ET. Oh, and farming junk for silver. That bots get a ton more of than you anyways and just gets lame after a while.

Honestly have to wonder if the developers didn’t see this coming or if they just weren’t able to care because they had to get the game out the door. It’s pretty jarring just how… NOTHING there is at the end of this game, though.
