i tested the skill in normal dungeon and it worked fine, strange…Maybe is a problem with mercenary only.

My enchanter friend tested to enter 290, he is 287 with lvl 3 empower, and he cant enter. Strange.

Necroposting to say this skill still doesn’t work for lvl 290 dungeon. I tested it at lvl 287 with Empowering lvl 3 too.

This is the fate of non-meta class

Ehm, the fuq?

Guys… as an Enchanter player myself, I have never even thought about whether Empowering would allow you to cheat around entry requirements…you’re missing the point of the skill. It’s not meant to literally increase your level in order to gain early access to missions (this actually just raises a bunch of questions itself lol…).

You know that TOS has this inherent mechanic where your level VS the monsters level brings up certain penalties and affects how the stats of each side interact with the other in combat, right? THAT’s what Empowering is intended to play with.

It makes it so that when you’re empowered, the interactions play out as if you were X levels higher, despite actually being whatever level you are.

Like, imagine if some day the max level is 430 but the toughest boss in the game is 450. It will hurt less and be less hard to take down if you use Empower 15 to bring the whole party closer to its level as that would lessen the level penalties.

tl;dr: no bug here. it’s a buff, not a hac, and it works as intended… /facepalm

Yeh. Actually I didn’t take Enchanter for this skill, but as we have a reset each day I thought I could at least lvl up a little bit this skill to enter lvl 290 dungeon. Get IMCed .

“Briefly increases your and your party members’ characer levels and max SP. The increased level will not be explicitly shown but when entering instances, it will prove very useful.

Look, you are still misunderstanding the same thing I just wrote about in the post above…

Let me try my best with an example.

You get into a Siauliai instance mission with 4 strangers of different levels. Let’s say the level of the mission (what level the bosses are) is 240, and the lowest person in the party is 220, while the highest is 255.

The 220 player is unlucky, and if unprepared, they will have a very bad time, while the 255 player will go facehug the boss carelessly and not really have to bother looking at their own HP-bar.

But if the party has an Enchanter with Empowering Lv5, it raises the whole partys levels for the duration of the buff, which means that the 220 player will have less of a bad time (then only 15 levels below instead of 20), the average 240ish player will get more comfy, and the 255 player can play using their willy while being blindfolded. (I am exaggerating to make a point of course).

That would “prove useful in an instance”, because the instance level is fixed the moment you enter, while Empower manipulates your level within the instance.

If you think you “got IMCed”, then I wonder if you’d also think that, when you find out that Chronomancers Backmasking doesn’t adjust the serverclock :'D

Never I said I didn’t understand what’s you are talking about, it’s like assuming I don’t understand fire is hot and ice is cold.

Actually your whole point is the same for everything, not only instanced dungeons. As far as I know, mobs in open areas have a base level too that can’t change, so why would they say it’s useful in an instance and not in any content ? If you are lvl 275 and go in a map lvl 290, with Empowering lvl 15 you don’t face the problem of lvl penalty.

Why are you ignoring this :
