ELEMENTS or CATACOMBS PIKE for 175 str 91 dex cataphract currently lvl156

I want to start using an end-game 2 handed spear at 170 and I’m wondering which is better to use with my stats. I know that catacombs pike is good for crit type which I think I am but I’m also thinking of using elements with cafrisun set which will really boost elements’ effect because of extra hit from cafrisun. Soooo which do you think should I use?

you shouldn’t even need to ask this.

what is your character built for? basic damage or crits?
if you aren’t built for crits, then a crit pike probably isn’t going to provide the results you’re hoping for.

auto-attack build -> Element, but u need to constantly buy Sacrament from pardoner every hour (This shouldn’t be a problem if u have Quest portal for returning cities)

skill build -> catacomb pike

Neither. Keep using galin trident and level up ur attribute instead.

what is considered a crit build? full dex or higher dex than str? hmmmm i think cataphract is more on skill build though. and @fhonghwong why is that? what 2 handed spear should I be using then at max level?

Because attribute give more dmg on ur most used skills than a weapon that barely improve ur dmg. Those weapon will be obsolete in the future too, attribute won’t. If u find those weapon for less than 300k, sure, upgrade. However, over 1mil and thats a good 50% attribute for ur most powerful skill. +50% is far better than +50 dmg.

+1 @fhonghwong

I’m cata3Templar lv240 and still using +3 lydeka with no gems since lv79 :smile:

ohhhh okay thanks @fhonghwong! maybe I’ll do that since I’m thinking things in the long run. :slight_smile:

I agree with fhongwong. Attributes are more beneficial for now. As for your weapon, Cataphract is a skill based class. There is hardly any time to be doing auto-attacks. Finestra allows us to crit often which makes the Cata Pike’s higher attack more beneficial. Elemental damage doesn’t get multiplied by crit. Cata Pike > Elements. There are other reasons as well, but I think they are obvious enough.
