Elementalist or Psychokino?

Hi, im about to start playing the game and i have been researching on what class i want to play, i always play mages in my games, so i did some research and i liked 2: Psychokino and Elementalist.

I like Psychonkino because the gameplay looks insane, like the amount of cc is crazy, i saw a video of a Psi getting mobs in the air and then killing them with something, i dont know it seems like it s alot of fun to chain skills and make combos with this class.

Elementalist is my typical mage that i love, tons of damage but it lacks CC i have researched and its the magic class with the highes DPS output damage but i dont know, while i do like the high numbers i dont know if it will be as fun to play compared to the way Psychokino can combine spells and stuff.

Im a pve and pvp player so i would like to be “good” on both and i have to say i also am a solo player for the most part but i do team with some people here and there or in group finders etc, but im not reall a social person in MMORPGS, i just prefer to do my thing really.

I would like to hear some pros ans cons of this 2 “classes” from people that plays them.

Thanks.

EDIT: This is the video i saw of psychokino… it looks insane to me:

Cryo/psy/rc is op in PVP and PVE, wiz3/ele3/war is Very strong PVE based but also a bit good in PVP but it’s harder to play in PVP.

I’ve gone both paths and personally i enjoyed the cryo/psy path alot more and once you reach runecaster you finish bosses within 5 seconds.

For a starter character i would suggest wiz3/ele3/war because it’s a solid build with no suprises coming with it. It also gives +50% dmg because of wiz3, which will later once higher tier classes come around always benefit any new class.

But for a fun and creative gameplay experience i would say go with cryo/psy/rc.

EDIT: This post should actually be moved to the “Class and Rank” forum sub category.

Thanks for your response, can you link me to a build so i can see and compare with other builds i found?, im talking about the psy/cry/rune build you said.

Also i wanted to ask, i have read that Magic classes dont put primarly points into INT but rather CON… mmm can you give me an explanation on this because for example i read that the wiz3/ele3/wl can go full CON???

Im confused with the stats because thats not how you usually build a caster in RPGS.

y is this on general?

This is the build i’ve gone, you may change the skills you want on rune caster besides the Rune of Ice, thats the most important one.

For Con builds, it’s because of PVP. If you would never invest in con then the amount of HP you have is just not enough.
There are classes that can easily one shot you then. So people reccomend Con builds.
Some say a few like 3/1 INT/CON and nowadays some players say go full con because your skills will do still alot of dmg and you survive longer. Which means more skills used more dmg output total.

I hope this gives you an idea of why people go that way.

If you want you can use the stat simulator on tosbase to try some stat builds and see how much hp difference it gives. Then look up to some high end classes how much dmg they do and theorize abit.

IMC really need to nerf this down somehow.
In other games, mages w/o Int are trash mages, or full support mages. In this game, no Int full con mages reign over everything, Pvp and pve alike.

Im seeing the build and noticed that you are using Magnetic Force, now im not even played the game yet so i cant even know, but i read that skill is bad and people leave it at lvl 1 and they prefer to use swap.

Also i get that rune caster is for the added ice damage, but wouldnt it be better to go for the rank 3 cryo spells like Ice pillar that also seems to be like a form of CC, well at least from the description thats what i understood.

Like i said im just assuming and telling whati have read, im an ingorant i know because i enver played the game, jsut asking.

About CON i also read that people recommend 100 CON and then stop putting points in it, is that a good advice?

It’s odd indeed even though in other mmo’s some players still went half half int con or more int and some con for pvp builds. But a full con viable build for wiz classes is indeed very strange.

Mmm i cant but agree with your statment, but it seems this game damage is poorly balanced just like in Ragnarok Online so maybe the problem is they need to tone down the damage in all the classes and increase the value of the primarly attributes like Int, so they benefit more the damage if you invest in it.

Magnetic force isnt that bad, but it’s also a good option to leave it at 1 and go for swap. It’s more of a pref option really. I’ve seen some people go with that but they never use swap or the good situation for it never occurs.

Ofcourse cryo3 is a very good option, it gives 2 very good CC skills and if you want to go with a CC more focused build. I highly recommend that. If you want for more dmg go with rune caster.

100 con is indeed a good amount to stop at. I personally stopped at 60, wanted some more int.

EDIT: at my 60 i still do very good at PVP hehe

How annoying is to get the runes for the runecaster?, i mean i remember in RO it was a pain sometimes to get gemstones, is it that painful?

Also if i decide to go for cryo3 would i still be good in pve? or the lack of damage will hurt me?

Also is there some kind of “discrimination” towards certain type of classes or builds in pve?, like “no ■■■■ you i will not take you because you dont do enough damage” of some sort in this game?

Thank you for all your replies, you are too kind for taking the time.

That Kino from the vid has level 100 attrib on [Psychic Pressure] and around 70~80 attrib on [Gravity Pole].

Kino will work fine as DPS but it’s actually kinda expensive IMO to make them catch up to other dps.

Just an fyi, there is a huge bug with gravity pole or whatever it is called. Right now its crashing party members and psyco alike. You get like maybe 5ish casts off before you start crashing things.

You mean the runes needed for casting? You buy them directly from the RC master, which isn’t a pain actionwise except 200 = 100k so it’s slightly burdensome.

Cryo3 is still good in PvE because of the freezing. People love that stuff, so long as you don’t block them with ice wall.

There is that discrimination, but the wizard class is more or less free from it because it provides decent support if you dont go the wiz3ele3 route. It’s mostly against swordsmen and like, monks in this game.
