Either the performance patch didn't work or it was nearly entirely ineffective

I was one of the people that thought “IMC is turning the game around, they’re working on things like performance which need a big boost”.

Now, I log in and get the exact same problems. There is no noticeable difference and I’m still regularly at 120+ FPS while still “lagging”, just like before, the lag seems exactly the same, as well.

120+ FPS in fields but still stuttering, 5-20 FPS in major towns is unacceptable. There’s no reason this game should be lagging, it looks like a game that could have came out 15 years ago.

So not only did the performance patch do nothing, we’re also far behind in balance patches and content patches.

I’m losing hope. -_-

Performance was increased on graphical termn, not on connectivity. Thats explained.

Yes, of course.

Whenever a game shows 120 fps+ and still stutters, that’s performance issues.

Nowhere in my post did I mention connectivity.

=/ i didnt notice any improvement. Try going to Fedimian with 100 players on it and see if the game don’t stutter. If your FPS drops down to less than 10, then IMC didn’t do anything

“lagging”

Dullahan boss caused game freeze by the mass of players
In empty areas its significant, in crowded areas its still an improvement on my machine

I’m guessing you work for IMC, the way you twist my words. Lag means FPS or connection, my post implies FPS, I’m assuming English is not your native language, since you seem to have a poor grasp on it.

Right now I’m walking back and forth outside the level 90 dungeon entrance on my alt. 150 FPS but it’s stuttering. Sad.

Sorry to dissapoint you, Im neither working nor affiliated with IMC.

Lag describes delay of action.
In online gaming that is delay of information exchange by server and client.
In a technical example turbo lag is caused by low engine rpm not delivering enough exhaust fumes to power up the turbine.

Your stuttering is of course no lag, but as you mentioned both lag and stuttering, I adressed lag directly.

When game waits for network packet to render something halting every other activity (stutter) then it is both graphical and connectivity issue.

My Guess is the game is badly designed where the graphics layer waits for network packets. Those spike lags u get is the graphics waiting. That’s why fps still 150 as that’s the redraw rate. But you freeze cause the game halts everything to wait for some packet.

The screen stuttering is usually alleviated by enabling vsync back. There’s no need to have over 60 FPS in this game anyway.

Also there wasn’t much improvement on performance as expected, but it also seems to have introduced a weird texture bug. I see every character painted white when behind objects now.

It is not a bug. They simplified character’s silhouettes behind objects from a nice gray outline to simple white.

Really? It looks terrible.

I got a small boost when in Town compared to before; probably only gonna be a 4~5 FPS increase during crowded World Boss fights if lucky.

But I was still stuttering during Missions earlier when the amount of skill sfx on-screen at once reached a high point, just like before.

I’ve actually got a significant boost.

Maybe the fix has greater effect for lower-end machines, because on my old laptop the fix is a good boost whereas on my gaming desktop, fix is just average.

got 10-15 fps in fedimian

i7 860 4,2ghz 4 cores 4 threads. all cpu’s are under 50% taxed
8gb ddr3, only 6gb used max
gpu around 40% used ( 970 gtx )

This means, it’s the engine as there is zero bottleneck going on hardware wise

I did move the game towards a SSD, SSD seems to help a lot with lock ups, but frankly it still drops down.

It’s completely the engine tho, because framerates are all over the place.

A mate of mine has the same setup with 16gb ddr4 + i7 6700, same low framerates and a 970, and a SSD.

The biggest offender is load times in my opinion, dungeons are also a lag fest of skill delays that hardly work.

There is something engine wise going wrong.

dude has a 650 with 1gb of v-ram. so yea he probably hits a v-ram wall at this point. as the game does use more then 1gb v-ram at times. i would just disable all those effects to be honest.

There is an addon allow you to diable all spell effect, downside including healing tiles as well.

Seriously? Can you find me a game coming out 15 years ago whose graphic is so delicate and beautiful? I guess you are from the future, aren’t you? Do you live in like what, 2030?
