Earth tower cubes opening fees bugged?

Really not sure if this is a bug or intended, or I simply misunderstood the patch notes.

Earth Tower

  • New reward: Condensed Earth Tower 00F Cube x1.
  • Symbols and Earth Fragments now received along with the final rewards.
    - Reduced Condensed Earth Tower Cube reopening fees by 60% for Token users.

10F: 2,100,000 (1 time) / 840,000 (2 times)
15F: 2,800,000 (1 time) / 1,200,000 (2 times)
20F: 3,500,000 (1 time) / 1,400,000 (2 times)
25F: 3,500,000 (1 time) / 1,400,000 (2 times)
30F: 4,200,000 (1 time) / 1,680,000 (2 times)
35F: 4,900,000 (1 time) / 1,960,000 (2 times)
40F: 6,300,000 (1 time) / 2,520,000 (2 times)

I am a token player. I just opened a condensed 30F cube and the opening fee is 4.2m. 60% of 4.2m should be 2,520,000, so that isn’t right and I did indeed got charged for 4.2m.

It didn’t reduce the fee for the 2nd cube either, which was 1,680,000.

The 60% discount for opening the cubes simply didn’t apply. Can someone please tell me what’s going on?

First, reduced by 60% means it’s going to be 40%. 100% - 60% = 40%

Second, 1,680,000 is already the reduced/discounted fee. Multiply 4,200,000 by 0.4 and you’ll get 1,680,000.
They didn’t explain it well but their statement basically means the 2nd reroll is cheaper by 60% compared to the 4.2m from the 1st reroll.

So are you telling me, if I have no token, my 2nd cube will also cost 4,200,000?

So the 60% reduction ONLY applies to the 2nd opening fee?

That doesn’t make much sense to me tbh

If you are not a token user, I don’t think you are available to reroll for the 2nd time.

What’s the average drop of essence/fragment per reroll?

0 fragments.
2-6 essences (4 = expected avg?)

so no more RNG on the cubes for 30f and onward? It is always essence?

Didn’t do runs myself yet but that’s what everyone I asked said + ktos videos I found while making this:

This spreadsheet is still a WIP, but I’m linking it here in case it can be helpful if you need to calculate prices/cubes after changes.

new cubes drop 100% essence, averaging about 10 essence per 2 cubes, with rerolling.
