Drop rates calculation

Hi guys,

I was searching for some items on tos.neet.tv and saw there are two different drop rate styles there. Some items have a fixed drop rate like “Amber (7.0 %)”, while other are like “Pevordimas Shield (0.66 % × 3.6 %)”. What does this latter means? it’s a 3.6% chance or 0.66% or a literal multiplication of the two? it’s like that because of the looting chance?

Thanks in advance

I could be wrong here, but that formula is the chance of the shield drop (0.66%) in the armor X group drop rate (3.6%). (where X is the quality group)

So in the armor X group, the chance the shield would drop is 0.66% x 3.6% = 2.376%, since all of them have the same value, that means armor pieces of the same quality would have the same 2.376% drop rate.

Thanks! It makes a lot of sense seeing the other ratios, the only problem is that there is no other group with 3.6% chance in that case, armors have 7.21% and weapons have various values depending on rarity (pistols and muskets have lower values)

Just notice that, different HG levels have different drop rates, the lower the level the highest is the drop.

I didn’t paid much attention to the rest except the first armor quality group there (blue ones), of course weapons would be in a different one, although, it would be more simple if they separated between: 2h, 1h and sub-weapons, but it’s IMC we are dealing with here, so it’s a freaking mess, unless they come and say it’s intended (which I wouldn’t doubt they really come here and say it to cover the mess lol).

If you get Loot Chance gear, you will notice the difference, at around 400 LC you get a pretty good amount of stuff, although, most are blues, and some purples, but oranges still hard to come by.

It’s exactly like that though. Let’s take Narcon Prison as an example:
https://tos.neet.tv/zones/4780

Take a look at the gemstones: Topaz, Opal, Sapphire, Ruby, Mithril Ore and Blessed Shard. As you can see, there’s a 5% chance of any gemstone to drop after killing any monster inside Narcon Prison, but all gemstones have different individual drop rates. Mithril Ore is more likely to drop (27%) and Blessed Shard is the rarest one (0.9%). If you take the sum of all gemstones drop chance, you’ll get 100%, so you can see they belong to the same group.

The same occurs to weapons and armors. You have 1.33% chance of dropping any armor piece. If an armor piece should drop, a second roll decides which piece you’ll get: Primus Rodeleine Shield is less likely to drop, while a blue piece of lv170 armor is the most common roll among armors.

From my experience, the game seems to make 3 rolls. There’s a chance that you can drop one of the monster’s specific loot, one gemstone and one piece of equipment. This happened once when I was farming in one of the HGs and a mob dropped 3 different items.

Awesome explanation from you guys.

I know that is hard, but does any one have a good theory or tried a hypothesis that works around how does looting chance works.

As Niri mentioned, around 400 it can feel drop more but for my experience it is not always the same. I see that effect not just farming but on CM (which double the looting chance each stage) .
