Dragoon PvP Ranks and Stats

So I know there is a search function and I have used it to its fullest already. I have read many threads related to this topic and could not find the answers I am looking for. I mostly found people saying “This is the best! Do it or you’re an idiot”. I think this thread will be good to get all of our questions out of the way by helping each other.

So as the topic says, I would like to discuss Dragoon PvP Classes and Stat builds. I have a good Idea of what most people are already doing but I would like to get deeper into it. I will mostly be focused on the Cata 3 approach BUT if anyone has another setup they would like to discuss please feel free to post about it.

The Class choices as I said I will mostly be talking about the Cata3 builds.

So the 2 setups I see people mostly going towards are these two.

This route is for taking Swordsman Circle 3 skill “Restrain” at max level this skill gives a 40% chance to stun on hit. You can get the skill attribute that will add a 12 second slow at max level to the enemy after the stun wears off.

There is a bit of debate as to whether this effect works with auto attacks only or also with skills. I will link the thread the debate happened in but it seems towards the end they agreed its working with skills also.

So This route is taken for a more defensive stance in PVP with the benefits of Guard, Finesta and 25% more hp with attribute for Swash Buckling. I like this one quite a bit but I’m not sure if it can compete with Restrain 10.

STATS

Most popular setups I’ve seen people say they are using or have suggested to others are the following

STR/CON/DEX
4 2 2
STR/CON/DEX
4 1 3
STR/CON/DEX
4 4 0
STR/CON/DEX
0 0 ALL

I will update more when I get home. Im on my phone currently. Please feel free to post YOUR build or builds you want to use or think could be good. Remember this thread if for PVP Class and stat discussion for Dragoons try not to get to off topic battling each other over Restrain.

This is great info. Keep it up!

I think Sw3Cata3, is prob the best…
I’m still lvl 120 planning sw1 high2 cata3 drag1

I don’t fell like I did the right stuff, prob gona start new char…

But the problem is the stats… Is it worth get DEX for Sw3Cata3 build?

I tell you guys if you’re a SWC3>CataC3>Dragoon you’ll have a bad time in leveling and joining parties for Siauli missions since you can’t tank and you have low damage better go for Swordsman > Peltasta > Hoplite > Cata 3 > Dragoon for a good all arounder. It can tank , it can damage and it can help greatly in PVE and very good in GVG due to HIGH HEALTH and HIGH DEF

I totally forgot I made this topic. But yes I agree Swordsman 3 leveling is a pain but the reward for getting through it if you just simply want to pvp could be good. The only thing that will make swordsman 3 bad is a enemy plague doctor.

I plan on having my Plague Doctor friend with me all the time to make Swordsman 3’s useless. Also I don’t really need a Plague Doctor to make other swordsman useless because I have Guard from Peltasta. Now Guard will not help against clerics and mages but having the ability to block a majority of another swordsman’s damage is great. If you can time it well you can block some of the big hits other swordsman’s will do to you.

Having 1h Spear + Shield is great and a 2h spear on swap to use with your stronger ability’s is even better. Swordsman 3 at the end of the day is simply Restrain lvl 10 and a higher level Pain Barrier. The 10 added seconds for Pain Barrier from level 15 is great but in the end I think what you get from Swordsman > Peltasta > Hoplite > Cata 3 > Dragoon is simply better.

Peltasta brings 3 good things to the table.

  1. Guard.
  2. 3 second stun with an overheat of 2
  3. 25% more HP for 30 seconds when you use swashbuckling.

Hoplite really only brings 1 thing and that is Finestra for +60 crit chance and 12% block at level 5.

So those are my thoughts on the build I’m doing and before some one comes in and says “Swordsman 3 or nothing” I have this to say to you.

Plague Doctor bro… Plague Doctors everywhere.

I’m also very aware of this picture and that the #3 is a
Swordsman 3 > Cata 3 > Dragoon

But is this enough to say that it is the ONLY good pvp build for Swordsman. I don’t think so. I’m sure that in time other builds will be found that are quite good and I really don’t think people should use this picture to choose what is the best and what is not. Also there are no archers in this top 50, If only they had restrain right??? LOL

I am really interested on second build. But I am worried about the stats, since we haven’t stat reset potions anymore. Let’s try to explore it better?

I think the 0-0-all wasn’t thougth for pvp, right? 0 con don’t seems to be competitive.

Evasion can dodge skills? Sorry if is a noob question, but i think this is important to rate DEX.

Edit: I think 1 point on Guardian, for the Attribute’s +18% evasion all the time, is better than Gung Ho lv 5.

That list of stats is just what I’ve searched around for and found on the forums from people saying they were going to pvp as a swordsman. Personal Im going to go with the 4:2:2 approach.

Also you have given me the idea of dropping Rim Blow to pick up level 5 Guardian and keep Level 5 Gung Ho and swap the buffs as needed. This will be more work but if managed correctly you can have your defenses up when needed and offense up when needed

I’m going for SW C3 + Cata C3 + Dragoon. I don’t think Peltast + Hoplite brings enough to the table (for pvp obviously). Restrain is great, being able to keep your enemy stunned, and it works with skills. Plague Doctors are going to get nerfed in pvp(atleast in KR?).

My stat distribution is STR:CON:DEX 3:2:2.

STR/CON/DEX
4 4 0
STR/CON/DEX
0 0 ALL

These are horrible and translates as you will either tank and miss all your hits or evade a lot but will die quick from magic. Going leather and 3:2:2 seems a good balance.
