Hi all, im new here, i just make a new char and i think im going to sw pel1 hop3 dopp drag, so im asking with normal budget (for my item) is max str better or max dex better.

Neither. 
Finestra gives you the advantage of being able to put some of your stats into CON and STR. You’ll need CON if you’re going 2H, and I recommend it even if you’re 1H and shield, plus an additional 10-15 STR for Block Penetration though that’s more optional. You’ll want to go High DEX though.

Technically it would be better for you to reroll but it’s not a lost cause. Invest mostly into to DEX from now on, if your CRIT Rate is too low, you can always put a Green Gem onto your spear. Another aspect to consider is STR is going to be rebalanced in the future, so it will most likely be more viable then.

Some of the older guides for HopGoons recommend pumping STR over DEX, which is what I did, but now it seems that DEX is the way to go.
My HopGoon is at lvl 273, I have about 315 STR, around 70 CON and 90 DEX. I whoop ass but I guess it’s not optimal at this point.
I have a dragoon/hop3, and at the moment my only investment are con and dex/ I plan to stop at 100-120 con and all in dex, at the moment I use 1:3 as a repartition respectively.
I thought about mixing str and dex because of finestra’s crit rate, but str is so weak, if you’re not going full (which is still weak), there is absolutely no point besides wasting your stat points.
I regret doing full str doppel.
I mixed physical attack and crit attack headgears with yellow gems, so I have about 1500 crit attack and somewhere between 90% crit rate.
tl;dr : Go con/dex.
Do you think I should start pumping DEX or just keep going STR at this point?
I’d say invest more in dex, but at this point both won’t make a huge difference…

well it may when the level shoots to 400 or whatever we end up at.
Put all further stats on DEX, go for equipment like two Sissels, Pygry or Regard, and maybe Green Gems, then that should be enough to CRIT, especially with a Chrono for party related activities.
0 str for pve
only dex and maybe some con
finestra fill some cri rate = 150dex
feel free to get some con
need block pene, use some item like glass bracelet x2
Here is another question for this build, Pierce or Synchro Thrusting ? At this low level (130) i prefer synchro because the cooldown and quick attack, Pierce is a bit longer and sometimes get interupted by monster which is very annoying and i cant use 2h spear yet. From what i heard, people prefer Pierce more when reach high level cause the dmg potential and of course, high level you get more skill to rotation so Synchro isnt a good choice but all the info, all the post, all the argue between this 2 skills is about 1 year old so it may not fit the current meta. At this time, Synchro is worth leveling ? (for long term) or i should invest my point to Pierce and Stabbing.
Synchro is good if you go murmillo and buy the attributes.
Pierce is better if you go dragoon, because in hop c2 you increase the damage with the attributes, so even for a rank 3 class, the damage of pierce is kind of surprising, whatever your level is.
Thank for your reply but when you use Pierce, you may get interupted, like a lot, does it a problem when high lv ?
Synchro does significantly more damage than Pierce. 2 overheats, 15 second cooldown, damage scaling with your shield, has better AOE attack ratio, and shorter animation. Its only real downside is it requires using a shield, but that’s not an issue if you were planning on going 1H Spear + Shield anyway, the hitbox can be a little bad at times too but Pierce isn’t much better.
For point allocation make sure you have 15 Finistra, 15 Stabbing, 5 Spear Throw, the rest can go where you like.
