Hello guys I’m having alot of trouble with this, I’m tired of reroling from all sorts of classes and I decided I will pick a sword3cata3 that I left off a while ago that has alot of attributes high and I will level and play this toon for life! No more rerols god.
So I would like you guys opinion on weather dragoon 3 > x or x >lancer 2/3 would be the safest bet for the future based on the info we have now(skill scaling) and class mechanics.
Both classes are futureproof, the only difference is the playstyle.
Since I have both ((lvl 313 sword3cata3goon2 and lvl 326 sword3cata3cor1lancer1), I will share you my input.
Dragoon:
covers both PVE and PVP, it can cover more content than lancer.
it is a straightforward DPS class which is more easier to use than lancer.
it is kitted with ‘true multi-hit’ skills which are future proof.
it has the gear advantage over lancer, since it can equip shield and 1H spear (with the latest gem patch, 1H+Shield have more advantage now in terms of options)
Lancer
just PVP
tactical DPS type, it’s harder to use than dragoon.
although it lacks the damage dragoon have, it is packed with more utility and gimmicks specially when C2 comes which is more sought for in end game PVP.
TLDR: Choose dragoon if you want to cover more content and straightforward playstyle. Choose lancer if you want more PVP utility.
Dragoon 2 is better.
Nobody fears a lancer in PVP, but everyone keeps an eye out for dragoon 2
Both good. Just different playstyle. And they’re both future proof.
depends on what you want
lancer seem to be a class that is only going to be strong at future ranks 9-10, (initiate scaling is very strong)
dragoon already got its power spike with dethrone, its hard to tell because who knows what skills will be implemented at rank 9-10?
there is a chance that lancer is either super op or trash, i took that gamble and picked lancer, ( i do have a pve hoplite dragoon c2 though)
currently both are great at pvp and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise.
Dragoon has the upper hand in terms of damage (serpentine and dethrone)
Lancer has the upper hand in terms of utility (initiate’s block penetration and block, joust silence, crush reduces physical defense and physical attack and unmounting skill)
If you are looking for a straight up pvp player i’d pick lancer
if you want your cata to have pve capabilities (which would require a lot of work in terms of attribute lvl and damage)
go dragoon c2, you can also pvp with a dragoon c2 as well dethrone is pretty good against archers and wizards/clerics that don’t have r7x, i played some pvp on my hoplite dragoon 2 for fun and i have to say dethrone is awesome. I enjoy both classes so it really is your choice
