DPS ranking problems with Bokor/Sadhu?

I have lvl 40 attri. for Cure, Heal, Effigy and Possession, but for some reason my DPS is not being counted properly for the rankings (lvl 172 range).

Like, sometimes I would clearly draw the aggro from the mission boss, and depending on the group I end up doing the most damage at times (easily doing 3.4k+ Possession per hit vs Poata for example) but will often end up being ranked 4/5, as if my dps got reset by something (and several times I get lower ranking than a pelt that just holds C). I also make sure to stay near the boss at all times, so it is not as though I was too far away from the boss and lost dps that way.

And no, I did not use Fade at all. Just Heal, Cure, Safety Zone, Possession, Hexing and Effigy.

This problem only occurs with this character. My monk, for example, was able to get fairly accurate DPS rankings (high rank vs plate bosses, lower rank vs leather).

Anyone else getting similar problems?

Happens to me as well here and then. And I’m using a Bokor2/Sadhu2

its bcuz sadhu is pretty bad, and ,aybe your team just has better dps than u.

cleric2>bokor3>x>x would do more dmg

monk does more dmg than sadhu and bokor

I have a Bokor 2 / Sadhu 2 as well and that happens, but always assumed that it was because the party did more dps than me =P

Usually in Poata i get higher ranks due to holy dps.

There was at least once where I did over 1/4 of Poata’s hp (222k/800k) in damage, but I ended up at rank 4 in dps somehow. Feels like Possession damage isn’t being counted correctly. :expressionless:

Do you use some addon to check overall dmg? Without something to properly compute how much damage I did to the boss I can’t confirm your theory on possession (WoW’s addons were so much easier to get @-@). Usually missions are a mess and atm I’m lvl 233, lots of skills spamming. I do have all passives at lvl 50, except for heal, I don’t use it as offensive. I’m also Kabbalist so I’m not sure R7F counts in my overall dps for calculation (some sweet counters).

I will try to pay attention though. Poata is the biggest example that sometimes I’m getting kicked and being pursued by it like crazy (so I assume my dps aggro is high) and I don’t get higher ranks (3 or 4 out of 5).

I heard fade resets DPS contribution.

In my case and @zellista we are not using fade.

everyone else in your party is better, sadhu is just a bad class even with possession

magic arrow from fetcher does way more dmg than possesion, even on a dark monster, has a 5 sec cd, cant be interuppted, and you can move/cast other skills during magic arrow

For that particular case I manually counted my damage, since I managed to do 2 full 10seconds cast for possession (3.4k per hit, so 3.4 x 60 = 204k) plus 1 cast of lvl 3 Cure (14 hits at 2k each). I dealt more than 1/4 of the total HP (which was at 800k for lvl 165~) but still only got to rank 4. It would make more sense if I was rank 3 or 2, but consistently getting rank 4/5 is weird. None of my other characters have this problem.

Sometimes I even go un-ranked too, even though I was there for the whole fight.

@zellista The unraked happens. It’s more of a bug. I play often with a friend and sometimes I can see his rank while he does not see his own, and the other way around happens too. Sometimes he gets no rank at all for both viewers. Not often, but yes it happens.

Ppl assume that every party has a Wugushi, Fletcher, etc, which I already know I won’t do more dps. But the Bokor / Sadhu combination can take 1st~3rd place in dps rank (well been there done that), so no, not everyone in our party has always a better dps.

I was assuming that it might have something to do with OoB being canceled by the boss. It may cause the dmg dealed to reset.

Actually I cant think of more possibilities. Im dealing a lot of dmg in combination with lethargy (double effigy dmg), so I’m pretty sure its impossible to only get rank 5 with even my support mage (link3-alchemist2) being higher ranked than me.

Its clearly a bug, but hard to reproduce.

actually i think dmg on linked enemies are counted torwards the linker i heard

Sadhu is bad i agree. But i have killed the pota 3/4 of the way alone, then bring it over to the group to make sure they get xp and finish it. And i don’t get first some times.

Im cleric 3 into sadhu, i don’t think its class related i just think there is something messed up with the dps ranks.

Okay, I think I figured out the problem.

Looks like Possession resets/■■■■■ up your dps ranking/contribution.

I just did a run using only Cure, Blessing+Heal, Hexing+Effigy plus OOB, and managed to get rank1 all the way. This is at rank 6.

So RIP to using Possession if you actually care about the ranks in dungeons/missions.

Similar stuff happens with Cloaking and Fade.

Thats actually a HUGE problem since the top dps system to pick who gets a world boss cube is actually connected with the ranking.

So by using possession (which is a solid dmg dealer to dark bosses) you sabotage yourself of getting no cube at all.
