DPS ranking on parties

Unfortunately, people are too stupid to understand that getting TOP DPS rank =/= your party dealing the most damage as possible.

Here are a couple of things i keep seeing in mission runs that annoy the living ■■■■ out of me:

  • Peltasta swordsman equiping an Arde Dagger instead of a shield and not tanking at all( it’s been so long since the last time i’ve had a tank in missions)
  • Archers picking up aggro and moving around like cockroaches instead of just circling the boss.
  • Everyone in the party completely ignoring wizzies’ ground skills, not placing the boss under Fire Pillars/Frost Clouds.
  • Archers( especially Quarrel Shooters, they’re the worst fucking kind) aggroing the boss all the way through, which cause the boss to stop and attack instead of just running to the “safe map” where everyone in the party can DPS consistently.
  • Wugushis constantly replacing their mates poison with their own

Final note: ■■■■ you Quarrel Shooters, you’re all a bunch of assholes.

Be an arsehole then and afk. I dont need to be worked up on this game. The role of archers will never effing change. The role of archers is to dps not to take aggros. Its tolerable if I will take aggro if there is no swordsman fine but not if you have like 4 swordsmans and non of them take aggro and let you take it. I just afk instead lmao.

Am I the only one who queue to get exp? A bunch of lowbies caring about dps like it matters on that level. Just make it quick.

It’s either it’s DPS and not total damage, or the damage meter resets if you’ve lost aggro / out of combat.

I’ve had someone doing like 80% of the damage and waiting for the rest of the group to get to the mineloader in 130 rush but he didn’t get #1.

Edit: I hope people know that DPS (damage per second) is not total damage done lol.

If you proc hp/sp from sitting it wipes your damage contribution. So does Fade. I don’t think there’s a “time” wipe though.

I really like this feature, it helps me gauge my damage vs all those quarrel shooters running around.

it is extremely painful to play my Fencer to tank, when a QS just brainlessly running shot and kite the boss to oblivion

Encountered a Cleric, Bokor-PD to be exact that did not put a single heal tile throughout the entire mission and instead tries to be top dps by having the rest die left and right or left in the red while he basically went ‘solo’ with all the bosses.

Everybody else are just not needed.

I consistently have my Bokor and Cryosorc get number 3 and higher during Siau missions. Fills my ego nice and tight~

Even better if there are Wizeles on, and I get first on my Bokor. Although that’s rare.

I cannot compete against archers tho.

Although one thing to note about DPS, it’s Damage Per Second, which entails the most consistent amount of damage done over time against a single target. This makes sustainability tantamount to getting that wonderful ego boost of being number 1. If you cannot stay alive, you won’t get number one. Glass canons are potentially good at DPS so long as they can sustain their HP.

Which is why I usually see archers (dex and dodge) and DPS clerics/CON wizes taking the number 1 spot. They can survive long enough to deliver their respective share of damage.

Pretty cool for linkers. Damage on linked enemies are credited to the linker. In mission i link up the gorilla and other boss, then just proceed to auto attack and still rank 3rd when either of them dies.

This feature makes me sad when i’m ranking 1st to 3rd with my full CON swordman stuck with his shield and one-hand spear because of tanking duties on mission (240+).

Sometimes I’m just wondering if my teamates are afk, they are moving and using skills but not on the right spot it seems…
Last mission, I was with an ElemWarlock, a A3QS3Scout, a Monk and a W3Pyro3Link. I thought “cool a mission that will be fine and fast”. On the golem, the surprise was real, I was ranked 3rd, the pyro 2nd the Monk 1st.
I wasn’t surprise by the monk ranking because of the weakness of the golem to strike damage but by the Pyro ranking despise the fact he was taking a huge damage nerf (golem is resistant to fire…).

I asked during the bonfire protection, guys can you just play during this mission because you are supposed to dps a way more than that…? Yeah I know, it was a toxic question but I really hate people that are Afk or semi-Afk during dungeon, if everyone tryhards it is just faster.

Elemem answer: Stfu naab, your template is trash just taunt and hold guard and let me DPS. Maybe he is right on my template (I still regret taking SW2 for a longer Pain barrier) but he should just have a look on his spell rotation maybe…

On the second boss wave, it is even worse, I finished second on both of the two bosses (stacked together for the aoe feast) and first on the tree (:sob:). The elemem pointed out that the pyro was last this fight… He used rain on the target when the pyro put all his spells…
The archer was Afk AA while kneeling shot after using running shot in a corner with his lvl 40 weapon… I don’t know archer mechanics but should him swap weapon after using his grand cross to buff himself? Btw he just died in his corner killed by the seeds…

Unlucky players or just overhyped builds?

Sometimes a dps meter can be good by pushing forward players but most of the time it is just adding toxicity to the game (ie support build gains are not really showed in the numbers) and frustration.

there’s a problem with dps meter, it’s not entirely accurate like aggro.

get knocked too far > your damage on dps meter resets
do a quick sit > your damage meter resets(?)

Your damage contribution resets when you get faded (by cleric2), too far away, sit, etc.

Yes, but that still doesn’t answer what I quoted, there were no clerics, I didn’t sit. I guess I’ll upload the video later
