Tree of Savior Forum

Dpk more difficult than before?

You’re welcome, that’s the point of a forum, to exchange information.

And I’ve definitely seen you around.

Forums are fantastic, they’re integral to the MMO experience. The ability for us all to share information and communicate with each other isn’t just a fun distraction, it adds to the game play itself. I love reading what everyone writes, I love speculating and analysing, and I love expanding my knowledge. It’s part of the reason for my dislike of detractors and the hostilely ignorant. I hope the Staff keep working on giving the forum a life of its own, and create more events, badges, and useful up to date information to further encourage useful discussion and info.

Yeah and my stance on Necros has been to rework the class so it can’t AFK, and ban everyone who obviously macros. IMC can’t just fix bad design with more bad design.

@Queue How long did it take to get the ionium for your shade greaves? I’ve done the mission a few times and never seen a drop.

I’d guess around 20 runs, not entirely sure because I farmed them a long time ago and just didn’t get around to the Superior Kovos Recipes. Depending on your server I can hook you up.

idk but I farmed hunter bangle rec the other night and i got it at 620 kills. tosbase says 475 ~ 525 dpk

I was just curious. Got the recipe while questing and considered crafting but after doing 3 missions without one drop I just sold it.

Oh okay. Probably not that bad of an idea because they were nerfed hard in the Balance Update in KTOS, I’ll be selling mine before the inevitable market crash where millions of silver disappear from once good equipment…

I disagree that it’s unfair. I am glad I sold a lot of materials but I want something better than DPK and works.

The old DPK was good because you knew you would drop it at a certain point, no matter what. I don’t want it to be change to something that makes it harder to farm. To be fair, I’d rather have all DPK materials as the RNG % chance drop to something like Kugheri Numani’s Bells chance.

Horseshit you do. You’re full of just lies.

My guild also farmed some materials together, as well some friends I know on Silute did the same, even after the DPK changes.

In fact, we finished Lilysaur’s pike in 2 days.

Our most recent Pike two days. Presuming we PURCHASED the Art, of course.

Regard XB 4 days.

There’s exceptions to this of course. Some mats are just unagreeable and the recent changes made it very difficult to farm things again.

However, I’m confident that if we really wanted to and forwent Solmiki and dailies, we could get a weapon in a week.

I’d love to see more activity like this, but since I’ve never seen activity like this on my server hence my suspicion on the legitimacy of your claims.

Or I think you’re just pulling this out of your ass. If not, hey good on you. You’re the only ones doing it as a guild effort that I know of.

At first we did it separately. This is true. But we grew closer and just began helping each other as a static. We found we got a lot more done by focusing on 1 person at as a group than as individuals on ourselves.

We freely exchange pract, shards, and anything necessary to make our group a success. At the end of the day it’s all just in-game items. But I think it’s hard enough to find the enjoyment of a reliable, good group of people.

Takes a bit of trust building but eventually it happened.

You’re the definition of a 5 man guild. Most if not all of the content in the game can be done with 5 people alone. This makes it hard to join guilds who are well into their 5 man groups and established. Seriously though, good job.

I joined a guild through an invite only to find out the five man clique is already formed and that they are hardly ever online nor have any interest in helping new recruits. You’re just a “talt-factory” for them. Rest of the time I get to see their Dina Bee necros online.

But you’re wrong about that as well, my friend. We have 2 and working on 3 statics. We help all of our newer players who aren’t even there for Solmiki and ET yet. We teach it to everyone that joins, to help each other out.

Our guild isn’t big, sure. But we talk to everyone actively. I left my previous guild and made this one with this in mind. And it’s worked really, really well.

Sure, there are 5 of us that are very comfortable with each other, but we all came into this guild and left our old one with the same thing in mind.

We want to have a good group of reliable, like-minded people.

Rare stuff you just listed, but this is already quite off topic. Fact remains most people in this game aren’t going to have a harem of like-minded people willing to grind a high DPK item with them. It’s just not happening.

That alone kind of puts you outside the entire discussion of this topic since you have no first hand real experience of the horrors of farming these items on your own with only your own wits.

But I also have experience in doing that too!

My point is that I focused on making this community with like-minded people BECAUSE I got tired of that crap. Everyone complained about the same stuff and no one took a step forward to do anything about it. So I did.

Simple.

I’m sure you’ve got friends that in the game that would offer it.

I remember doing 730 kills on my SR every 3 hours using some beat-up manamana for 1 symbani sword. I remember aiming for 2-3 a day. Sometimes I’d have a thaum, sometimes I wouldn’t.

Don’t be so presumptuous. If you want something like that “harem of people” you claim is rare, find some people that are good and like-minded and form something regular out of it.

Regardless, we as a group spent A LOT of time fulfilling DPK orders, farming our own, et cetera. The bottom line I have with this is that we’ve come to understand how much we regularly get out of a farm session.

We list our drops and keep records of it because it’s important information for us to understand how much time overall we will spend farming.

In gist, the changes really kicked us.

@LunarRabbit Yeah, I’ve never been a fan of the you suffer because I suffered mob mentality and I think you hit the nail on the head with your sentiments on the matter. It should definitely be similar to Bell farming.

Is there a different system in KTOS?

I really appreciate you sharing what you’ve shared with me so far. Thank you for the information. Looking over the longer thread, I can see how it got out of hand. For some reason I was under the belief that it affected ONLY 315 orange mats. But then again, I live in a pineapple under the sea.

I wonder if all drops are intertwined with each other…

The answer is, sort of. Items are either RNG with a %, or DPK with a ranging value (ie. 100-200)., those are defined individually by the item. The DPK formula though, that’s a global definition:

1 / (set DPK value – current no. of monsters defeated)
