I did some tests and DWA is not affected by Attack Speed. Is it intended or a bug?

do you use a kind of program or just you own perception ?Âż a lot of player said that the AA asso depend on you ping so may be with a program you can get a better perception on the AA from DWA anyway that suppoust to be like the top speed /2 I mean each Main-weapon off-weapon attk cycle its like a half of the top speed that you can get or some like that I hear time ago from a top Ktos corsair player

AA means a normal auto attack (no DWA) in this test.

I’m a One-Handed Sword player and I hate use Shield. In the end, I only found 1 build to play that is Swordsman 3 > Barbarian 3 > Corsair 3 > Shinobi. I was running a full STR build, but my DPS was low then any other AA build (Enchanter, Quarrel Shooter, Chaplain), what is ok, because I was running STR anyway. I crafted a good weapon, got a Stats reset, decided change my build to full DEX and run this test. I did this because I was pretty sure that DWA is affected by Attack Speed. But even not having the full data (0 to 360 DEX) checking the grafic is possible to see that DWA is not affected by Attack Speed. I was very disapointed… I have not even finished the test…

DWA is supposed to sinergy with Swordsman Concentration and Barbarian Frenzy, but…

For this test I had to use Razer Synapse, because is not possible for me stay at full DWA attack speed for 30 seconds.

My ping is not bad, at least I think it is not. Here a screenshot:

I was expecting a small increase in DWA attack speed, half increase of a normal AA would be great, but the data didn’t show that; there is no difference even between DWA and DWA + Frenzy. I’m still doing the test (180 to 360 DEX invested) and the result I’m getting still the same, no increase in DWA attack speed. Maybe we didn’t get this patch from ktos.

But the effectivity of dex its exponetial due that its decreasing time From the delay base on each attk (like 1 sec base) And you can notice that when your delay its less than 0.5

Thats with dex its over 500. i saw a video of a monk with over 800 and his does like 3-4 attk each second thats mean a delay of 0.3-0.25 maybe with over 800 on a corsair you can get a 0.5 delay with DWA

for me after hours of test i found something a little more complex than simple it work or not (or at least when i try to explain to others).
Simple thing, yeah it work; as dex increase the atk speed of atk
reality: not so ; why; the dex affects the main atk speed it seems for test i made, but when you try to combo dwa with main-offhand, it creates something similar as closed loop and this loop does not seem to be affected by dex, the same as wilhelm tests, but the main atk (first hand atk of the loop) does, so it someway bugs out DWA when you have too much dex because the main hand will atk faster and skip the offhand and thus not creating the dwa loop and in the end it does not work because the faster atk of main hand will not combo well with the off hand one and thus it will fail to create the “loop” and thus is not gonna work; is hard to explain but if anyone really tests it later on just try to seek out as sometimes when you have high dex you will do two or even 3 main hand atk and complete skip offhand and thus would not create the dwa main-offhand atk loop and in the end fail to use dwa.

now about the concept of the build i must disagree with wilhelm since i believe there is synergy for it:for me dwa right now is a lot better than before BUT i do believe it is to be the main focus of a build, at least is not worth if we compare with others AA builds yet, unless you really build it up with items like frieno etc and still is not so strong, but overall anyone can combo for example DWA with SHINOBI; since as right now all skills of corsairs works for bushin outside of the pistol one; and with the new addition of increase CD of shinobi i find the corsair shinobi not only having the biggest % FOR BUSHIN in all classes as right now, DWA really helps with the downtime of the build; and is the main build of my sword shinobi as well, since i always had a dual wield sword character in toss and can not bring myself to delete-reset him because i love the concept of sword dual wield, so dwa and corsair is in good spot for bushin and thus have synergy with it but i would not go as focusing on barb3 for example to make DWA the main FOCUS of the build, this is gonna fail without doubt, but focusing for example on BARB 1 for slash+ bushing clonables builds is really a good gameplay.

ps: i have also not tested it recently but it was sometime after the dwa rework and everything else, since it was my main dual wield build concept at the time, but i already reseted the dex out of it, so i can not say if there is any changes but since i have not read anything about it and by other posts it seems to still work this way, i find it was fair to give my 2 cents and experience with it as well.

edit: one extra info for anyone who want to pursue this path; do not let it get to you as when people say the build is weaker overall because in the end when you find the right setup with lines +manahas and when you reach 30-50k per atk of main and offhand; is really good and hitting the mobs with this is one of the biggest fun i had in tos for a long time; but of course this is hard to find everywhere and this is sad but the main downside of the build in the end is still the lack of support with items who can buff a good AA for swords; where other builds have masinios crossbow for example for qs or even enchanter that can use lightning + frost lord cards for huge buff of damage ; sword does not have anything like that and this is the biggest downside that makes the build weaker than the rest of AA builds but is fun nonetheless.

tldr: what I got from the first part is that IMC should make it so that dex affects offhand too right?

to be true with you? i do not know; maybe if they add that; it would work with dwa; but the reality is without testing i can not affirm if it will work; even more since we know that tos have those problems with some interactions where something works and other things do not and in the end no one knows why.

the dex work on the off hand attk speed but DWA its making the off hand cycle added to the main hand, maybe thats why the attk speeds looks slower on DWA

if attk speed mean delay animation for example if you have 0.5 delay on each main/off AA DWA combine both and make one animation with a delay calculated between both animations taking off a part of the hand switching with your attk and that become like 0.9 sec of delay attk instead 1h attk are like 0.5

I have ok weapon and 2008 critical attack but main attack reaches only 15 000 damage on a weak monster, so which weapon and anvil and upgrade and physical attack do you suggest ? Even if I had +21 masinios one hand sword trans 10 damage would not really be that different https://youtu.be/KHymJcOV4XI
