Guys can u advice? I’m going dragoon currently at rank6 @ dopp. Was thinking if I should reroll my skill. I took 1 skill pts into valor however my Hp drop too fast even at lv1. Jus wondering if really worth it else I was thinking to get double pay earn which seems more rewarding.
In my opinion:
Deeds of Valor (DoV) does best at high CON and low DEX builds.
Double Pay Earn (DPE) does best at high burst dmg builds.
DoV:
DoV defense reduction is not a big deal (for me at least). My lvl 180 doppel is a 1:1 STR/CON build without any evasion or shield to block so I play him like you’d play a berserker (kill or be killed). Getting 5 stacks with DoV is easy and he has enough HP to survive through battles (26k HP now) but he will eventually need to sit down and heal (or have a healer).
I also went Barbarian C3 and the interesting thing about DoV is that it also increases Warcry / Frenzy damage by 50% at 5 stacks. I can hit 2k damage basic attack on mobs same level as me with the buffs (and 3.5k in slash weak mobs). I really love DoV, but like I said, with or without it, a build without evasion or block will always need to sit down eventually.
If you have a lot of evasion or block in your build then DoV can lose it’s usefulness quickly. The stacks won’t go up if you block/evade and if you have a high evasion low HP build then it’s very risky to let yourself take magical dmg to increase the stack amount (magic dmg also gives stacks).
If you do take DoV I also suggest maxing Gung Ho Attribute (and skill level) and it’s also a good idea to use high physical attack weapons. DoV doesn’t increase elemental damage so using a 2h weapon is usually better than the 1h wep + arde dagger combo. Ofc if you’re playing with a chaplain friend arde dagger might still be better. I also suggest investing a reasonable amount in STR since DoV lvl 10 will basically double the bonus you get from point you invested in it (if you take doppel 2).
DPE:
I haven’t tested DPE but from what I understand of it you need to deal the last hit to the monster to earn the exp/drop boost. So I guess it’s mostly good if your build has good burst dmg skills with high cooldowns to use DPE when a boss or a jackpot mob is about to die. It looks very situational to me and thus not very appealing. Taking 2x damage (with attribute) does sound dangerous but I don’t think that’s the worst part of the skill at all. Having only 5 hits (at DPE lvl 5) and having to deal the last hit (imagine how annoying it can be in a party) is what ruins the skill for me.
I guess DPE can be reasonable if you’re a solo hunter hunting for materials. If you hunt for weaker mobs and are able to 1 hit them with a skill then you have 5 mobs with double drop chance every 57 seconds. That’s the best use I can think for this skill. I can’t really see much utility for the EXP double rate, though (aside from killing the blue EXP jackpot really rare mobs).

If someone else in your party kills stuff while DPDE is active you still get the benefits.
As for DoV, its a nice buff to use when things don’t hit you too hard or you can avoid most of the damage.
At C1 Dopple to dragoon only Cyclone and DoV are worth spending points on. Mord does ok dmg to cloth/casters but it knocks them way the fudge out of the ballpark unless they got a wall behind them. By the time you sprint over they might cast another lock on spell on you, which makes it useless. So at least gets one point into DPDE, I got two myself for soloing.
They really need to reduce the range of the knockback.
I have mord at 1 pts… I’m struggling to reset my skill set. It seems very weak dmg tho. And DoV as I have 350 Str and 60 dex
so for Dopp skill which u recommend ?
lv5 DPE + lv5 DoV + lv5 cyclone ?
Honestly if I could go back, I’d probably put 5 into DPDE. When I use my skill reset potion, I probably will.
So yes its a not bad way to go and your Dragoon Skills will have shorter cooldowns, so no need to add Mord into your rotation.
not even 1 in mordschlag for pvp against casters and disable?
I’m Hoplite c3 so I don’t do PVP.
