So hoplite 3 just turned into doppel, I was looking to put in my money into a red weapon now, and was wondering if I should get a 1-h spear, 2-h spear, or 2-h sword? What would be most sustainable?
You can’t use finestra with 2-h sword and Finestra 15 is the main reason why you have hoplite 3 
I would go for 1-h spear, the extra defense from a shield and one more gem slot is worth more then the extra base damage.

just so you know, brandish has 2 gem slots + 1 from shield. A 2-handed spear like catacombs pike has 3 gem slots. So you don’t get any more gem slots by using a 1 handed. Also if you’re going for dragoon next, they receive a 20% dmg bonus on large and 10% dmg bonus on boss from their class attribute for 2 handed spears.
I’m not that knowledgeable on what spears I should be using, so what do you think I should buy with my money right now? I’m for sure going Dragoon, so should I get an Elements instead of a Brandish?
Haha, yeah I think my post just made everything more confusing. End game wise you should probably have both a 1 handed spear and a 2 handed spear. Since you aren’t able to equip a 2 handed spear until dragoon. Just get the brandish for now, and try and get the catacombs pike later.
