Your just blaming the source without even reading it.
It mentions facts that contradict yours.

Did you even read everyone else’s post?

Actually I agree with taking it right away, but I will also appreciate some compromise.
What i’m doing is pretty much arguing against his points. It’s just I also wouldn’t mind a compromise either. Taking it away altogether is a no go.
What if you could buy the scrolls with silver, or if they dropped often from open world mobs? Does it have to be an item in the cash shop?
I think that would be up to IMC to decide. If they want it to be a cash shop item, then compromise it with your suggestion post.
I’m asking your opinion though.
too many people forget that ToS is a f2p game no subscription based thingy or b2p or w/e
subsription: you drop scrolls on a higher rate no shop offers them - everyone of the 50k players pays a monthly fee - game is running well
f2p: like somebody posted approx 2-15% will keep paying every month - scrolls drop on a lower rate than they would in subscription based games - monthly spender buy them or other stuff thats appealing to them - game is running well
f2p (possible way of how things could work) imc wont include any appealing items into the shop other than simple fashions wich arent appealing to the most - At MOST if they look awesome in the players opinion - less money income than the above for sure cause a big portion of players would love to spend their monthly stuff on token + gamble a lil (i still hate it but some ppl love to do that whyever) results in less income - slower content will be released etc etc
in both versions people gonna be unhappy - why? inexperienced gamer gonna be all out upset cause ToS isn like their beloved League of Legends (and still didn get that both games are a whole different world)
same players and even more people gonna be unhappy in version 2 - why? cause those who get upset over a lil stat boost or bonus exp gonna get upset for sure if theres no new content - paying players will get impatient as well thinking to move on cause nothing happened in the meanwhile
IMC does need more than fashion only in their shop to survive … now dont claim “i would pay for fashion only but i wont spend anything if they release token and stuff” thats complete BS and even if thats the case youll be the bottom 1% who actually thinks AND does act this way - probably some greenhorn whos experiencing his/her first f2p mmorpg ever - cause if you had experience with other games youd know that things are alot worse than that
result: nothing to worry about for now - its always good to discuss about these things so the Staff gets some opinions and can forward this - and hopefully people spend enough so our game isn forced into a p2w game ever - and i mean a wartune like p2w not this baby cash shop who has zero p2w potential right now - (i still dislike rng in cash shop tho and will ever do)
Well, I can talk about compromising, but I wouldn’t be compromising with IMC. They have to make money and I’m sure they were expecting a lot from magic scrolls.
As just a player I wouldn’t mind there being a money sink like magic scrolls for silver.
As a topic of discussion, I’ve got to say cash shop, because IMC has to make money too. This is what I’d vocalized, then say let there be compromise with zhouyu’s rng idea.
Sure, let’s ask IMC to add more stats to cash shop items. Hell, make it so gear doesn’t matter anymore and change the whole game about buying your gear. We all know how successful Diablo 3 has been with that! I aprove the OP!
If you look closely, you will see some sarcasm in my post.
Your missing the point. The point is they make the decisions in the first place. We can only suggest to them some options that makes things more reasonable. Its not about them doing something right or wrong, its about convincing them to make things a little less rage inducing.
Its about solutions not observations.
Lol.
My point is that, if people agree on IMC releasing the magic scrolls, those bonus are quite significant maybe until lv280-lv300 or so. When content for lv300-600 are released, those scrolls are gonna get obsolete and im pretty sure IMC gonna release a higher tier magic scrolls that give a much higher stats to scale with higher levels.
Regardless, pay players will always have an upper hand in the game and we letting IMC doing exactly that is really worrying.
Fyi, i have no trouble spending cash on the game. I want this game to last at least 3 years, not 3 months.
Thing is I want to buy Founders Pack 1 & 2 so I can have 3 months worth of Token time, because I want to spend the extra TP on a costume and hair. I have no desire to buy 6 months of Token time and after the 3 months I want to just buy a Token if I’m still playing.
This is directly from Dota 2. How they deal with cosmetics is fantastic. The boxes should cost 3~5 dollars per box. It gives people incentive to buy 5 boxes to get all 5 skins total a value of 15~25 dollars per person, also every time you open a box you have a chance to get the rare costume or a cool mount / pet.
Also the costumes / hats / skins etc. should be tradeable to other players and you should be allowed to put them in the marketplace for others to buy with silver.
#What I’d hate to see
Boxes for crafters. Containing say 1000x repair kits for squires or crazy amount of herbs for alchemists.
Gem adhesives to level up gems super fast.
Loot / drop rate manipulation scrolls / buffs etc.
I would love those variants.
But on the rare costume: Would they be rare recolors or entirely diferent costumes that dont fall into the “5 baseline” costumes of the box?
Because with the regulation that you mentioned that you couldnt get duplicates, that would mean after you get all 5 other duplicates there would be only the rare left in the box(and the pet) are those guaranteed then in your example, or is there something in the box that would be like a “You lose”-Ticket? Like for example potion?
My reason for asking is that, if you would get those rare costumes guaranteed wouldnt make them feel rare anymore, but opening a box and getting literally nothing because you have all Costumes beside the rare one would feel very disheartening, if you understand what i mean.
Other then that i share your opinion that that would be a kind of “gambling” system i would love to see implemented as you wouldnt exactly buy power. Eventhough there are always the ones that yell:
“They can sll those for money?! Thats p2w”
Eventhough they probably bought every costume out of the market with silver, without spending real money, like the person initially getting it from the box. >_> But those Idiots aside i really would ove to see that idea of yours in the game alas with some modification of the kind i mentioned.
heres the solution: dont put it in the game
Thats what everyone has been saying
Thats not a solution, thats your attempted solution, which I dont agree with.
Again, your one of those ignoring the 32% and thinking about your one solution instead of compromising, selfishly.
I don’t think they should be removed. Just because something is more difficult to obtain by earning it instead of paying for it does not mean it’s ‘pay2win’ or unfair. For pvp I do think the stat buffs from this should be disabled, but outside of that I have no complaints about it. Unless you’re a min/maxing obsessed player, these buffs aren’t going to matter. If you ARE min/max, go out and earn it instead of whining about how you can’t get it as easily as someone who’s willing to pay for it with real money that they had to earn.
Equipments have no effect in arena, so for the ‘competitive’ PvP it has no effect.
For GvG, there’s far more things that will make bigger impact.
If im selfish for asking them to remove any P2W component, you are selfish for wanting to keep them. It can go both ways
@Derael You dont get an extra hit for every element you have. Only additional attacks modifier gives you an additional damage that includes elemental damage.
Cafrisun, Enchant fire and Sacrament are coded to give you the modifier called “additional attack”, that is influenced by all your elemental damage.
Basically if you have cafrisun+ef and sacrament your damage would be like this:
Base attack+elemental damage
Cafrisun damage+elemental damage
Enchant fire damage+elemental damage
Sacrament damage+elemental damage
So from hats you can get a maximum of around 480 damage.
But this is available to everyone, you can drop the scrolls, the cash shop
part is for extreme min-maxers slot machine guys who are going to spend thousand of euros for that perfect hat that gives minimal benefit.
You don’t need 3 maxed stats on your hats, just an almost maxed elemental damage stat on all of them. Pretty easy to get. 3 hats, with only 1 bonus each.
EDIT: for instance, i’ve bought 3 hats with maxed elemental damage for a total of 250k
That’s exactly what I said.
With all of those modifiers 3 hats with 3 elemental enhancements each grant insane damage. You will basically oneshot anything before level 150 or so. Let’s say you got 400 damage from hats. Chaplain with Cafrisun set will deal 5 attacks per auto, it’s 2000 bonus damage. If he has pyro in party it will be 2400 bonus damage. And it’s far from max damage. My calculations above are for maxed stats.
