Does Weapon Potential Resets When Crafted into another Weapon?

Hi I’m wondering if weapon potential will be reset after it is upgraded ,
eg. Grand Cross(potential 3/5) being crafted to a Didel Grand Cross.
Q. does the potential get reseted?

I’m also wondering what happens to the Upgrades you do to the weapon that is being upgraded
eg. Grand Cross +6 being crafted to a Didel Grand Cross.
Q. does the number of upgrades go back to 0? or it stays as +6?

you craft new item, not upgrade the old one.

Its a different item, so reset.
