Does the game need to modify / rebalance each Stat?

Im fairly certain this has already ben discussed before, but i didnt wanna dig up some old thread somewhere in the depths of these forums.

Well, basicly, as of late, i’ve really started to realise how rediculous DEX is, giving Evasion, Accuracy AND crit.
Its basicly a counter to itself by giving both Evasion and Accuracy.
Yes, i know Magic cant be evaded.
But would it be too much of an effort from a balance / coding standpoint to spilt Evasion and Accuracy to 2 different stats?
Like adding an AGI stat, giving Evasion and maybe something like attack speed or animation speed.

Or giving more Accuracy for each point in Dex compared to Evasion, cause right now, it feels like only high dex builds can deal with other high dex builds.

no, we dont need to split our stats even more, our dps would be terrible

thats the thing though, a stat should only be one or the other, defensive or offensive, not both.
Would be like Str giving Block, Int giving Magic Def

This would ultimately further divide the Swordsmen/Archer point distribution into deeper insanity, and doesn’t really offer much to magic users. Imo DEX is a decent stat that’s fairly balanced since the crit rate is flat and not scaling.

Infact, I actually want it to include some type of Cooldown Reduction. It’d very much tempt Wizards and actually make their point distribution fairly chaotic, while it’d also patch some of the horrid Swordie cooldowns and gives everyone a point to dumping more DEX. Not sure if it’d make high DEX a thing over high STR, but a healthy blend between the two would bring benefit imo.

Compare same things please. Int giving Magic Def is not new in MMOs and it’s clearly not the same effect as Evasion. For exemple, ToS’s big brother were using the system of Int giving Magic Def, less Magic Def than Matk ofc.

But I agree with you, a stat which counter itself is not gonna work in any way. Let’s wait few months or years and IMC will maybe corect this. You can see how much unskilled they are with the recent patch on the STR stat. It’s like changing the base system of the game 1 year later :smile:.

Nice idea, full CON Wizards were not a problem anyway, let’s give them a way to spam CC with full Dex <3. The most important problem is the number of points we can put in those stats, making this game absolutely foolish.

i was mostly thinking in our case, where we already have SPR giving magic def.

but you’re right, i probably should’ve said like higher MDEF penetration, or something along those lines

Yeh, I was not thinking about this stat because it’s a total waste :disappointed:. They splitted Matk and Mdef while merging Evasion and Hitrate :weary:.

I’d also love to see a reason for Wizards to build something other than CON, and it would be fine for DEX to give the bonuses you mentioned.
But now we would have evasion wizards too.
If they were to give DEX cast speed / cooldown reduction, it really cant be giving you Evasion too imo, but without adding another stat for it, im not sure where one would put it, or balance it.

Maybe giving SPR cooldown reduction?

Changed the title, it started with me just being concerned about DEX, but honestly there are more stats that could need another look.

So what changes or additions would you like to see?
As mentioned before, to me, my biggest concerned is DEX giving both Evasion and Accuracy, and that you pretty much need an Equal amount of DEX if not more for the accuracy to deal with high DEX builds

We mostly need a change in the scaling of the skills, not just a flat numer, because that way CON will always be superior in almost any wizard class, which is just stupid.

spr’s problem is that a greater mana capacity means nothing with several skills draining a % of your sp, magic defense not on par with m-att from int, and nothing that needs a bigger mana pool. at least the cc resist is nice.

str/int have issues with linear scaling as later ranks give skills with such huge base damage that your str/int will barely affect it.

dex will eventually surpass str at rank 8 or later, but the entire stat is made useless with magic not missing.

only con is godly since it makes you survive longer and get more heals

Full Con Wizards are more of a problem because they don’t care for mini damage: The fact that they walk around with large HP pools and tons of block is enough in a PvP environment when combined with other abilities. In this case, only their CC is particularly scary.

With Dex/Int they’d become glassy cannons and while they’d have decent values of evasion, it’d be messy since- holy crap, Magic can’t be evaded, and most PvP Physical types build high Dex.

Though having it on SPR isn’t a bad idea either.

STR and INT don’t particularly need anything new now, they just need better scaling per rank to make pure Con have weaknesses.

Make swords and archers gain a chance of nullifying magic damage, scaling with level, forcing every magic class to get INT so they don’t become tankier than swordies while still blowing up ■■■■

And Con/Dex will be just too OP, that’s all.

clerics cant go full con, clerics are meant to int. our skills have low base dmg but are multihit, meaning int scales a lot better on dps then wizards. wizards skills arent so int scales badly
